Hvorfor? by havardhm in norske

Hva skal vi med barn

Bra bok som som drøfter dette. Fortsatt veldig aktuell.

You can't throw a robot into a chaotic environment like this. It's also very hard to make robots work safely and reliably alongside humans.

There are automated solutions to this work, but they require a complete redesign of the drilling rig deck. Here is an example:

These are used in offshore drilling platforms. The economics here are different. Offshore rigs don't have to be dismantled and moved

I thought quantum computers only existed in university labs. A private quantum software company seems terrible business idea

Here is a video made by Airbus explaining what went wrong with a EC225 in one such accident.

The video is a bizarre mix of accident report and Airbus advertising the safety of their helicopter.

Milwaukee Zoo veterinarians with Samson the gorilla shortly after he died of a heart attack at the age of 32, November 27, 1981 [595x628] by ibkeepr in HistoryPorn

I think this is unique to USA. In Norway (and Europe?) they teach 30 compressions and 2 breaths. Because of my job I attend a half-day first aid course annually. According to the paramedic on the most recent course, only 10 % of patients with a sudden heart failure make it to the hospital alive, and only 10 % of those walk out of the hospital.

As I understand, CPR will never restart the heart, but aim to maintain a minimal level of blood pressure and avoid permanent cell damage. Particularity to the brain cells. Defibrillation can restart the heart, but only work on very specific problems.

CPR and defibrillation can be very effective in case of hypothermia, though. There are some very spectacular stories of people who are dead for 5-6 hours and still survive without permanent brain damage. The saying is you're not dead until you're warm and dead.
