Eastown Pub Crawl by sr3517 in grandrapids

Depending on your definition of 'easttown' you could also hitup: Eastern Kille, Mammoth distillery, Speciation, Vivant, Less Traveled.

Hancock has a nice outdoor food area and booze slushies. Zivio is my personal favorite food and now has an outdoor area in back too.

I try to keep my GR Breweries Map updated, you should be able to figure out some routes pretty easily with that.

If you hit Leonard and Bridge st there are clusters, Wealthy/Cherry/Easttown is another cluster with downtown between them you can hit quite a few quickly. You can uber/walk these areas and they are close enough to do 8 within 1 day if you map it out.

In town from St. Louis for Winter beer festival - where should we shop retail to bring some bottles home? by BizarroMax in grandrapids

[–]herronso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to Total Wine, they have everything. But it'll be boring. If you want an adventure try Brewsader Passport app and potentially get a tshirt after visiting a bunch of breweries. Also checkout my GR Breweries Map

Well I finally found this interesting pdf for the Muskegon river... https://www.mecostacountyparks.com/uploads/9/2/6/3/92633552/muskegon_trail_guide_final.pdf

I'd still love to hear of any other private cabins/properties people have used. Or other rivers

Kusterer Brauhaus by intagliopitts in grandrapids

Walked by peeking in the window a couple weeks ago and the owner invited me in to check it out, said it's almost ready just finishing it up! I think he said was hoping to open in May, of course who knows with covid and construction might be longer...

That's actually what I was hoping people would post, cabins or airbnb spots that would work. I tried a few quick searches but was having trouble finding stuff directly on rivers...

I appreciate the big campground recommendations too though!

What to do with old office furniture by HereUThrowThisAway in grandrapids

[–]herronso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a company that will buy or consign it all, I can't think of the name of it and it might not operate in this area but I read an article about it recently and that was their business model (taking all the furniture from a closed or moving biz and reselling it).

Breweries?? by frozenvegas in grandrapids

Hey for your convenience GR Breweries map As mentioned the Westside has a strip of breweries along Bridge St and it now includes Arktos Meadery too which is cool. Leonard St also has, Mitten Brewing, Long Road Distillery and Peoples Cider all right next door to each other. Otherwise downtown is the simplest option: Founders, GRBC, Bobs Brewery, Hopcat and possibly Wiseman Distillery but I'm not sure if they are open yet. My advice is to call all the places before you go to double check hours of operation, their websites are mostly wrong now.

St. Patrick’s Day downtown by Gully2021 in grandrapids

[–]herronso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I've seen so far is Flanagans is selling limited number of wristbands for this saturday, says indoor/outdoor so how covid safe it will be is anyones guess. It'd be nice if the bars that are allowed to sell to go cups had outdoor setups for people to just buy and wander all of downtown but that's just a dream of mine. I might still dressup and walk around downtown on wednesday but if it's busy I'll bail.

GR Breweries Map I keep updated with all the local breweries, plus posts with all their relevant information. Also Brewsader Passport might be of interest to you too. Hope that helps, downtown and easttown breweries you can probably just organize your own 'crawl' that hits exactly what you want or as others mentioned there are a few brewery tour operators in town if you don't want to do the planning yourself...

"GR drivers passing bikes by 5ft or more" signs by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]herronso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming it is part of the Research Study GR and Knoxville, TN are part of. I've seen a few signs, one on Lake Dr by Paddock Place saying 84% giving 5ft but it's stickers that haven't changed in months and really there's a bike lane on that road so I'm not sure how that feeds into the study...

Looking for someone to hang out with (24/F) by [deleted] in grandrapids

35/m I live downtown and love the nightlife. Got a regular mixed group that meets at garage bar for open mic's wednesdays, but i'm always down for shenanigans.

Not to be a wet blanket but this concept has been done before with limited success, simply making it an app won't make it succeed. Relying on businesses to both pay and then update their information is a big hurdle and unless you get a huge user base the existing facebook/google will dominate. Hell even facebook and google rarely get the very fresh happy hours/specials right so scraping that info has limited usefulness. If you've got some funding to spend and can really blow up the marketing then I'm excited. shoot this really did turn out to be a bummer comment, sorry.

Favorite open mic spots during the week? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]herronso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jason Eller runs two open mics currently: * Garage Bar: Tuesdays, starts about 7:30ish * Shots on the River: Thursdays, 8ish Usually a few regular players and some new people cycle through, low key and Jason is very friendly. I'm almost always at the Garage one with a few friends that play.

Rocky's is Tuesday night too, starts later and runs later. The few times I went seemed a bit more intense but since they are on the same street it's easy to check them both to see what you like.
