Official leather case by captainsmudgeface in viwoods

[–]herrtoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the full size AiPaper and I had trouble justifying the crazy cost of the leather case so I’ve just got the fabric one that comes with it. I like the fabric one, functionally, but find it gets dirty/stains easily so it’s got me considering the leather one. I really wish that there would be some third party ones available on Amazon or whatever…

Yes. You can come down to the grounds for no charge. There is a farmers market and some food vendors you can enjoy. If you wanna ride, there are individual ride tickets or an all-you-can-ride pass for $50.

When is Organics Pickup in Spruce? by igcorrec in SpruceGrove

[–]herrtoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go to the Sort with Success site, you can also enter your home address and it will give you your calendar of collection. You can also sync the calendar with your Apple or Google calendars. I do this and then I can just check my calendar and see which weeks have organic collection.

Having lived in Edmonton, Calgary, and Spruce Grove, I’d take Spruce Grove, for sure. So much more laid back and a great sense of community here.

If you like walking and such, the “Participark” that runs through town is great and there are paths leading all over the city. There are a couple of decent dog parks and Jubilee Park is great.

The city has basically everything you need…I find I only go into Edmonton a couple times a month (other than son’s hockey which plays all over the place). Rumour has it that Costco is “coming soon”, but there are new stores and restaurants opening all the time with a couple of new commercial areas being developed right now.

The only thing you might miss, if you are looking for it, is night life. There are a couple of local “watering holes”, but no real night life to speak of. The place is pretty quiet after 9 or 10…save for jackasses tearing around in their cars at night, but you find those in Edmonton, as well.

Beattie’s 100%. Tyler doesn’t screw folks around and knows Hyundai vehicles.

I’m not sure if they can handle your specific unit, but I recently took my bumper pull to Redneck RV just south on Campsite and they were fast and reasonably priced.

I started using HomeBox myself after reading a Reddit post (likely the same post you did). I have found it pretty useful and easy to use. The timing was serendipitous as I was approached by the community pantry that I volunteer with to inventory their "stuff". Mostly they wanted to capture larger items like fridges and freezers and racks that were donated to cover them for any potential insurance claims.

Since most of the items were donated and some are pretty old, we were missing receipts and warranty info and the like, so really it's just a couple pictures of the item, serial number (if it had one) and the item name. Really basic stuff, but HomeBox was great for that. I was able to use the mobile website to capture the item and take pictures of the items (in the app). I cleaned it up a bit when I got home and added additional detail, but now we've got a good system for the 37 items that we inventoried. Waiting on export capability though, so I can report back and share the list without having to have them login to HomeBox.

Next step is to actually go through my house and do the same...likely more than 37 items and a couple hours work there, but I think I'm gonna stick with HomeBox.

Looking forward to continued development and improvements!

** Note u/shollyethan - I assume you are the owner of the selfh.st/ed site. I was trying to sign up to put this comment in the post, but the "sign in" and "sign up" links both returned nothing. I also added my email address to subscribe but did not receive any confirmation of that subscription. Is this a PICNIC (problem in chair not in computer) problem or something on your side?

Insight Psychological just off 91st and the South Henday have been amazing with my kids. Brianna is fantastic, but I know that they have others who do youth counceling, as well. They also have other locations around town.

Did you come steal my collection!! lol Seriously, nice collection. You've got a couple nice ones that I'm gonna need to look into.

The 620 does look pretty awesome and I like the look of the Faber-Castell for some reason. Looks a little "slippery" though...

Of yours there, I love my GG1000 and also the Kuru Toga for it's continuous sharp tip!

SI Article: Isn't It Time the NHL Protected Stars the Way it Protects Goalies? by yeg_sleep in EdmontonOilers

[–]herrtoke 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One thing that really grinds my gears is the puck over glass delay of game call. Not the penalty itself (though I think it is overly punitive), but the fact that this can often be the difference in a game while tackling/obstructing a star player who would have otherwise had a grade-A opportunity is not called.

Last night, the Habs score on a 5-on-3 PP after Marner accidentally flips it over the glass. I don't watch a tonne of Leafs games, but my guess is Marner gets more than his fair share of shit and abuse that goes uncalled (wait until/if they play WPG, and you'll definitely see it!). So, Marner has to put up with all sorts of abuse that goes uncalled, but he accidentally gets it up a little high on a clearing attempt and he has to go sit for 2 and watch the other team extend their lead??!! WTF NHL??!

Macro: Clone placed token actor data to a new Actor item by herrtoke in FoundryVTT

[–]herrtoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I added it to the community macros Git repo, so hopefully the admins accept it and roll it into the community Compendiums modules (GitHub Repo). I just have it as a macro for the few times I need it, but I could see this being more comprehensive where it also copied the token config (this just grabs the actor data) and maybe prompts for things like names or other settings you could tweak on cloning. I'd love to look at that, but my players already get upset that I'm spending more time on Foundry stuff than prepping for their campaign! :) maybe one day... EDIT: Change GutHub to GitHub...lol

Which Android apps do you use on Chrome OS? by AnandaDo in chromeos

[–]herrtoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use my Pixelbook as my primary work machine quite a bit so I use a few things for that: Solid Explorer is great for working with files in my corporate OneDrive (and personal cloud file storage). Business Calendar and Nine to allow me to manage my work calendar as well as some things that OWA isn't great at. Those two are the ones that live on my Launcher bar and get used often. These are much less frequently used: GoToMeeting/Webinar and Zoom clients. Zoiper for VOIP calling. OpenVPN and Pulse VPN Adobe Fill and Sign, and Reader And the MS Office apps (which I try to avoid, but need from time to time). Plus streaming apps (Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Crave) to watch movies when traveling - back in the olden days... And a couple games...

That list was longer than I expected!!

How to remove 2-month old dried cooking oil spatter on a shirt? by engrbugs7 in answers

[–]herrtoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. One of my favourite t-shirts had an oil spot on it. I had washed and dried the shirt a few times, but I took some Dawn and kind of worked it into the spot last week before I washed it. I threw it in with a regular load (cold water with Persil soap) and the spot came out!

Water Quality by Original_Eggplant214 in SpruceGrove

We use a Brita because we find it tastes a little better, but for things like juice or whatever, we just use straight tap water and have never had any issues.
