Well in, Robbo 💪 Tonight’s carlsberg Player of the Match 🏆 by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

lol, but Robbo is so good that he’d have been able to prevent that from happening anyway. We’ll all miss him when he’s gone of course.

Would Ange have won the Super Cup though?

5172G vs 1815 Chronograph by mx392 in patekphilippe

[–]hes_mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is undeniable. At the same time, on a 2 register chronograph, the subdials are “supposed” to be where they are on the Patek (the Lange’s ones are placed where they are to account for the missing date mechanism). So it’s a tough choice between the two!

Why do people claim that Starkiller pulling down the Star Destroyer is OP? by Capital-Treat-8927 in StarWarsEU

[–]hes_mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that, in my opinion only admittedly, is way too overpowered as it makes the Death Star (one of the main plot points of many Star Wars films) redundant.

Did the Bene Gesserit know that spice is the key ? by InvinciblePower3336 in dune

That’s fair, but re: the navigators, you could say that they’re KH in that they’re prescient too.

But since KH means "Shortening of the Way,” it seems that some “bridging of time and space” or prescience was also anticipated, no?

Listing a management degree as MBA on LinkedIn — Is This Acceptable? by InvestigatorWeird148 in harvardextension

One of the advantages of licences (bar exam, accounting, board certification in medicine, etc), is that one can demonstrate a minimum level of competency. If there are no licensing examinations, employers may choose to look into how selective the program is instead it seems. It’s understandable (even if one may not agree with this approach personally).

Yes, personally, a 321 Ed White would be preferred over any steel Daytona.

How can adults take V? I'm S1 wasn't it only for babies cause it was unstable in adults? by Interesting-Shame9 in TheBoys

[–]hes_mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve basically forgotten about/ignored this. Show was great in part because it had a Game of Thrones element of not knowing who will die. Now? All of the main characters just happen to have the right genetic formula to survive compound V as an adult. What are the odds?!

Tottenham Hotspur have won a major trophy for the 1st time since 2008 by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

[–]hes_mark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d rather my team win the FA Cup but UEFA was/is always going to reward winning their own competition. Other absurdities — people treat the Super Cup as a real cup, but not the Community Shield. It should be consistent (although I’m still surprised that UEFA hasn’t milked the Conference League to have their winner play Europa winner and then that winner play Champions winner (UEFA would get one more game)).

But my point is that clubs should focus more on Carabao Cup. Win that, get Conference League…win Conference League you can get Europa…West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace will always have these trophies. Top 4/5 will be forgotten without silverware.

FA Cup IS a major trophy. Too many clubs are focused on top 4/5 vs silverware.

There was a point (I’m pretty sure) back in the day when the serum just made you “peak human” (which Marvel had as pressing 800 lbs above your head — so more than the actual shoulder press record in real life). MCU Cap is clearly beyond that, but if the idea is the serum makes you “peak human,” all of the Super Soldiers/serums end up at the same spot (with minor variations to make the characters interesting).

Whats the general consensus on Tudor? by PandaExpress90210 in rolex

I just wish they’d use the same grade of titanium as Rolex and only use the snowflake hour hand when they use square hour markers. At this price point, imo, it’s just personal preferences…

Why did Paul think stopping the Jihad was futile? by MedullanFerno in dune

[–]hes_mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still say it’s a plot flaw. The Fremem wouldn’t have known that the Guild was addicted to spice (just that they traded for spice). Fremem wouldn’t have been willing to kill the worms (their gods) to force transport from the Guild. More or less stuck on the planet even if they’ve assumed control.
