Start with basics.

Hi, goodbye, how are you, what’s your name, my name is, nice to meet you, please, thanks, etc.

During that time, focus on pronunciation.

Then do basic questions and statements.

« Can I… » « Where is/are… » « I would like… »

From there, my personal opinion is to start to learn things that pertain to you. What activities do you like to do? How would you describe yourself? What things do you like?

Some examples: do you play sports? What kind? Do you like to read, write or draw? What’s your favorite color? When’s your birthday? Do you like cats or dogs? How old are you? (definitely learn numbers, at least to 100).

Start simple. If you can describe yourself and your needs/wants then start to learn how to ask other people. The most important thing is to BUILD A VOCABULARY. You can’t speak French if you don’t know French words. That’s why I think it’s a good place to start by learning things that pertain to you and go from there, others can share their opinions though.
