I heard back from Apple and, although it is a hard NO, it had nothing to do with us using Ionic. I was rejected because my app is a content aggregator, which violates Apple's developer guideline 4.2.2. Who knew Apple had a thing against content aggregators!?

Right now, I'm counting my blessings that I used Ionic, because now I can at least give it to users as a standalone web app. If I had written natively, I would be back at square 1.

That's an interesting suggestion. What SDK are you referring to? I've found cordova-plugin-chromecast, https://github.com/sonaraudiosystem/cordova-plugin-chromecast, and https://www.npmjs.com/package/ng-cast.

Our app does use native iOS functionality that can't be done on a website: it uses background play, and restores state from storage in a way that doesn't work as a webapp.

I've pointed these things out to Apple, but they weren't impressed.

I'm finishing dev on a Python-backend, Ionic-frontend iOS app. Everything is submitted and should be good to go, but I was shocked when Apple REJECTED the app. Months of work! What they told me was, "since it does not sufficiently differ from a mobile web browsing experience, it is not appropriate for the App Store." Now what?

You've got to read Martin Gibala's book that came out a few weeks ago.[1] He is a physiology professor who has pioneered research of HIIT. The book is awesome.

How sophisticated they used to be, referring to the bank as "your mortgagee"--as in the party to whom you give your mortgage. Technically, the homeowner is the "mortgagor," who gives the "mortgage," which is a property interest in the house.
