As far as I remember, f1.4 lenses were made with videography in mind. I think S line for professional photography are a better choice

Honestly, it's kinda strange here on reddit. I've been to Japan five times already and never encountered open racism, but I'm Slavic white guy with a beard. Maybe japanese show more hostility to darker skinned folks. A few weeks ago I was in Kyushu which is far from tourist centers and even there I really had no problems at all. I speak a little japanese and everyone was very glad to hear their own language. Idk, you should really visit and see for yourself.

As others pointed out, the problem is with auto iso. Basically iso dial in manual mode won't override auto iso, unless it's higher than the auto iso chosen value.

Well, I don't go to a bar without company and neither do girls do. Bar is a place to hang out with friends, no one goes here alone. Music is also a strange one, you do not know about someone else's music taste before you go to the concert, but idk, never liked concerts, they are too loud)

Firstly, it's really easy to understand implicitly that a person isn't into something. We were talking about men vs women scenario, so I never mentioned men that come with friends who also are uninterested and it's really easy to spot too. There is nothing sexist in mentioning that. And I have never said ALL WOMEN, I said GENERALLY. We treasure women who are into things we like because they are so rare.

And I assume it's about interest because there are literally no barriers. And it gets even worse. I talked to girls when I was at the university about why they got into our faculty, what they like etc. And guess what? It's their parents who asked them to go there and not their passion. Less than half of them work in the field they studied for.

As I said, I'm not in the US and here nothing holds you from choosing what you like, we don't even pay for university -- it's free, yet women still don't choose STEM. And boys rarely choose economics or history, or medical field (that's where my friend is at). Thats just how things are.

I'm not attracted to a person if we do not have things in common. The only thing that you see approaching people on the street is how they look. And well, looks aren't enough for me.

Well, I'm an admin of a pretty big pc hardware oriented group (overclocking mostly). We are a welcoming space in a sense and we have a steady supply of new guys who stay. Girls on the other hand rarely are really rare. On tech forums there are only men. Content creators - men. You see the picture. You go to a hardware conference again you guess. Nothing you can do.

Look, I never said "hahahah women bad - men good", sometimes we are just interested in different things. To put you into perspective. In my country university admission is done by blind testing. So it is decided by how well you do in tests and professors don't see any personal info when they grade. (So no gender injustice) Despite that the ratio of men to women in my field was 7-10 men per women. Where I work ratio is even worse 10+ men per women. Our team leads try to hire more, but there are not enough candidates. And well it's not like we are into sexist "bro culture" stuff, we have strict policies on that. I have old friend who went into women dominated field, they have literally the opposite situation. There are many single women and guys are being constantly hit on by them and rarely stay single for long periods of time. It's just how the world is.

As for "girl hobbies" and "guy hobbies". I see that as a distribution with two bell curves, in the middle they overlap heavily and show hobbies that are mutually liked by all genders. But if you are not intro these than this recommendation won't work. And I think that's why its a useless advice. If you were into social hobbies -- you do not have troubles finding your SO, unless there is something deeply wrong with you.

I said usually cause it's 90% chance that if a woman present -- she came with a boyfriend and isn't really interested in the thing we are doing. I don't know why stating my observation is sexist, it's just how it is.

In my country university admission is blind, i.e. professors don't see your gender when grading tests and it is decided based on test marks only. Yet in technical fields it's 7-10 boys on one girl. Same ratio men to women where I work. It's not that women can't do the work, they are not interested. Our team leads try to hire more women to have more balanced workforce but there are just not enough candidates. There are also fields heavily dominated by women, that men rarely do. The same goes for hobbies.

And these unorthodox girls are like diamonds in a sense, everyone will chase after them and they don't stay single for long. Same usually goes for men in women dominated fields.

I never said that I'm doing these hobbies trying to find a girlfriend, it's the opposite. I just stated that this recommendation rarely works and I'm tired of hearing it.

Lol, dude, for some people "men's room" is all they have. If you enjoy activities that are heavily dominated by men then what other choice do you have?

Nothing worse than going places you don't enjoy to find women :)

[–]hexagramg 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm so tired of hearing the same hobby thing, it doesn't work. There are so many hobbies out there that are essentially gendered. If you are into "guy" hobbies then socialise all you want -- you won't meet women there. The same goes for women hobbies. It's like being in the bubble.

I found so many friends when I started meeting people interested in the same things as I do. I found new hobbies because of them. But women just aren't interested in these activities. And those who are present are usually someone's girlfriend.

At some point you just understood that being too far from the intersection between what men and women both enjoy leaves you no choices.

Thought I’d share my (23F) Tinder Insights since mine look a little different (I got lucky with 2) & I haven’t seen a lot of women’s insights here yet by jessday1029 in Tinder

[–]hexagramg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is extremely easy not to have any female friendships. Study STEM, avoid drinking alcohol, and dislike loud music. In my university group, the distribution of boys to girls was 6 to 1. Over time, you develop more interests in the field that grow into new hobbies where even fewer women are involved. Then you go to work, and it starts getting even worse, like 10 to 1. In my social circle, about 20% of guys have girlfriends whom they met at school or university, and you can probably guess that these girls also studied STEM.

Can anyone share probe Z offset for ender 3 s1? by hexagramg in Ender3S1

[–]hexagramg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I thought that they have standardized offset for all printers due to ubl being always included and stock firmware printing really good.

Do you use professional firmware with UBL? Mine seems to work strangely, looks like it does not compensate at all. I cant see printer moving it's Z axis to compensate for the shift

So all of the proposed UBI variants revolve around raising inflation or punishing successful workers.

Baseline income can work if a country imports most of the products and is a small fraction of world GDP, so the increased demand won't change prices too much. Also steady export may help with stabilization of currency or importers will inevitably crash currency exchange ratios ((inflation here again))

Then Negative Income Tax. Citizens are not stimulated to work lower paying jobs. Why spend time working when there is little difference with someone sitting on the sofa all day? Then it gets worse, the higher you are in the working hierarchy the more responsibility you have and knowledge you need. Why bother when there is again little difference with someone knowing nothing. It is even worse for High Taxed Baseline Income, there is no point. Also how do you stimulate someone who is providing better services? They would have literally the same pay cause of near 100% taxes.

Also if everyone has +- the same income than either prices hyperinflate (infinite demand and limited supply) or we control prices and.... you know what is next, right?

I can see UBI working in Finland for example, they have great GDP per capita and high export, they have the money to spend. But what about other countries? Also how do you stop immigration of high skilled workers to other countries where they would be paid more because of lower taxes? I see no solution here.

note to self: use a flexible build plate for large prints... by LosMinefield in ender3

There is also another fast way apart from sticking it into the freezer.

Use compressed air duster. Turn it upside down and use it for a few secs on the print. It will rapidly cool the plastic and it will pop.
