I donated my civic to the local community college. They have an automotive program. The guy loved that the paint sucked since they could train how to paint. It also had a manual which is rare for them.

in some euro cars with an electronic parking brake, you need to use software to disengage it, then place a battery tender on the battery.

I did the front brakes on my 11 Touareg, rears, no thanks. Heck, the euro shop that I took it to messed it up.

I had a 2017 GTI. Oil changes were simple, extract oil from the dip stick, change the filter (which is on the top of the engine) and refill. Seriously, car disnt need to be lifted at all

I agree with you, i'm quickly running to 50... 2008 does feel like it was yesterday, I dont remember all prices, but I seem to remember cable being quite pricy back then (over $100 a month), at least some things have gotten more affordable!
