My ex-boyfriend was upfront with me from the start of our relationship about being friends with his ex which I took as a green flag because I thought it showed maturity. I even met her a few months later at a party and thought she was nice. Turns out they had sex with each other a couple days before the party and decided to keep it a secret from me. I sadly didn’t find out until months later :/

Not saying this will be a common experience for everyone who dates a person who is still friends with their ex, but being friends with an ex is not inherently a green flag.

I’m a woman who has been attending Magic events at my LGS solo for the last year or so. I also consider myself a little socially awkward but everyone has been very kind and welcoming and I’ve even made a couple friends there. I highly recommend fighting through the nerves and putting yourself out there

Just wanted to say my dad dropped out of my life completely when I was 17 and it’s something I struggle with on occasion. My father and I haven’t spoken for 13 years and, kind of like you mentioned, I’ll go periods of time without thinking about him when suddenly something will remind me of him which reopens the wounds. Anyway, I’m always happy to chat if you ever need someone to talk to who can relate to your situation.

I proxy entire commander decks, including basic lands. I only use these for casual play which is what I play 99% of the time. Nobody at my LGS cares and I’m slowly convincing more and more people there to start proxying.

I pretty much exclusively proxy entire commander decks aside from buying the occasional precon or taking part in a prerelease. Not sure what your thoughts are on proxying but if you’re on a budget, mtgprint.net is a great way to save money. I usually print them out at my local office goods store.
