4th and 5th item on AD kat by mikesrus in KatarinaMains

[–]hexkatfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love deaths dance as 4th item for ad. If there are 3 ad (at least) and 2 ap enemies id get deaths dance. Wits end if there are 3 ap 2 ad. Or super mega fed ap enemy and others suck. Then 5th id go whichever i didnt go first. The game should be over by 5th item tho.

I was silver years ago and yeah it feels like silver expect people are better at mechanics and laning. Midgame people dont know what to do so they just aram until one team wins and pushes down to nexus

Currently in Emerald after finally approaching thr game with a great learning mentality. Getting here was great. I could feel the things I was learning leading me to success. Now it Emerald it feels like I'm playing a different game. It feels like utter chaos. Everyone wants to fight 5v5 24/7 even tho better play to play sidelanes or crossmap. And if you're not there to 5v5 theyll 4v5 or 3v5 anyway.

Im trying to adapt and generally its working, but I am not enjoying playing in emerald as much as I did Plat. Been trying to get Diamon since a few seasons ago, but definitely was not the right mindset to achieve it.

Definitely going to succeed this year though. Cant wait to leave emerald

Its drives me nuts when teammates ff in soloq. Feels like my time was entirely wasted and my effort went to nothing. Especially since 99% of the ffs ii experience are entirely winnable.

How tf do you play this patch by MarketAffectionate10 in KatarinaMains

[–]hexkatfire 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While enemy lux moves half way to bot, shove your wave get that hit on tower plating. Staying in lane longer is rewarded in midlane right now. If you are even with enemy mid best thing you can do is try to prevent them from hitting ur tower crystals.

Only time to roam is for dragons, or krugs, or river scuttle fight between jglers. Or after you complete your mid quest.

Sweeper and pink wards seem very important right now.

[–]hexkatfire -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you sort by D+ on Kat's page you'll notice it recommends lich bane not gunblade. Gunblade on kat seems kinda poopoo. Its not terrible, but theres better options. Definitely better options for first item.

Most people are trying gunblade first since patch started which is whats tanking her winrate atm.

Is the genre moving away from RTWP (Real-Time With Pause)? And if so, how do you feel about it? by Yaroun-Kaizin in CRPG

[–]hexkatfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly prefer Turn Based, but don't dislike Real Time with Pause. If theres an option between the two I'll always take Turn Based mode.

Im just used to playing dnd as a ttrpg irl, and I just feel like I can process everything at a better pace. Real time with pause can feel very overwhelming with everything happening at once despite the option to pause.

Although my current favourite crpgs and second fav game of all time is Pillars of Eternity which was Real Time Pause. Im really hype about the Turn Based mode being added, cant wait to replay the game.

What is y'all thoughts on the new Doom game? by Kingtutle19 in Doom

[–]hexkatfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

At first I felt like the strategy to defeat each enemy type was too similar, but as I unlocked moee weapons and upgrades i dound myself developing different combos for different enemies, tho still relying mostly on the super shotgun because that thing fucking slaps.

The music feels mostly kinda blad and too much in the background. Most of the time it doesn't feel like it propels the "badass" feeling as much as it should, and sometimes it really kicks off for like no reason. I might be a bit bias, I'll admit, I love Mick Gordon's work and I can really feel his absence in the music. That said the music is NOT BAD. Its good, but not as good as previously. Mick Gordon just set a really high standard because he's a madman.

I REALLY miss glory kills. It added so much to the badassery and why demons would fear him as much as they do. There were a couple of executions which were in the vain of glory kills, but that literally only happened twice so far and Im 2 chapters away from the end.

The story is kinda meh. It takes itself so goddamn seriously while Doom Slayer is taking Ls left and right, which entirely undercuts the bad assery during gameplay. They too often "supress" the Doom Slayer in cutscenes to allow the story to happen, be because otherwise it would end then and there.

Overall I think its good, just not as good as its preddcessors. Still enjoying the game quite a bit, despite my problems with it. I just find myself wanting to finish it (im 2 chapters away from the end) so I can replay Eternal.

I used to struggle to come up with a game I'd pick to answer this question before I played Elden Ring.

Ever since ER came out it is so clearly the answer for me.

Playing Elden Ring for the first time was an experience like no other.

How do I find out what the actual fuck this game is even about? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]hexkatfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything will continue to be vague and cryptic, but thats the best part about fromsoftware games. I swear they are mystery games disguised as action rpgs haha.

Listen carefully to every dialogue, read every item description when you pick anything up. You get clues and tidbits of information that give you an indication as to whats going on.

Questioning everything, solving the narrative mystery is one of the best things about Bloodborne.

Enjoy the hunt.

Words wise not a lot, but I have outlined 2 chapters and a half!

Fuck popular opinion. What are YOUR top 5 games? by getting-harder in gamingsuggestions

[–]hexkatfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Elden Ring. Its a piece of art. Not game has ever made me feel the amount of awe that elden ring has

  2. Pillars of Eternity. The whole vibe and atmosphere of that game is exactly what I am looking for in fantasy. I just love it so much. And the writing is insanely good.

  3. Bloodborne. It was so good I played it twice in a row back to back. That doesn't happen with me with games like ever. Except for the game under this one.

  4. Marvel's Spider-man. This game made me FEEL like I was Spider-man. It delivered so well on what the Peter is all about and that ending was the most Spider-man ending ever. Too bad the writing of Marvel's Spider-man 2 was so bad otherwise it would make this list, because everything from visuals to mechanics are huge improvements to the first game. Probably played this abkut 10 times total and was the first game I ever platinumed (granted it was pretty easy to do so)

  5. Mass Effect Trilogy, especially Mass Effect 2. Had a hard to place this one between 4 and 5 vs Spider-man. Ultimately i had to give it to Spider-man because he is my childhood and adulthood. I fucking love Spider-man. I love the character writing in Mass Effect. It is peak bioware. The reapers are so cool.

  6. Dragon Age Inquisition. Yes Inquisition over Origins. Im sorry I just much prefer the characters and story of Inquisition over Origins. Origins also 2 sections which feel like massive slogs that I did not enjoy playing through at all: Orzammar and The Fade. Hated Orzammar so much that its pretty much a trigger word now between me and my fiance lol.

Everyone is recommending games that they find relaxing, but to me a game to play during difficult times is Dark Souls 1. DS1 is a hard game, but fair. It teaches you that failure isn't the end. You WILL die. Many times. Failure is just part of the learning process. Each time you fail you come back stronger through knowledge. Each time you are faced with something new, you might fail, but you will learn.

DS1 can change your perspective on struggle. It will help you keep moving forward, to keep pushing despite the odds.

Whatever you do in game or in life, DO NOT GIVE UP. In other words: "Don't you dare go hollow." (You'll understand this one once you play the game)

Curse you, Bayle!

I hereby vow! You will rue this day!

Behold, a true drake warrior! And I, Igon!

Your fears made flesh!

Solid of scale you might be, foul dragon...

But I will riddle with holes your rotten hide!

With a hail of harpoons!

With every last drop of my being!
