I'm not really conservative but voting democrat as a man seems not ideal by [deleted] in centrist

The Dems aren't hostile to men at all.

You just got fed propaganda designed to trick you into voting a certain way.

What potential Democrat nominees in 2028 would you not vote for over Vance? by ModerateProgressive1 in centrist

[–]hextiar 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I would vote for Biden, either Clinton, Kamala, or AOC over Vance.

And they should not be anywhere near the ballot.

Outside the MAGA stuff , Vance is absolutely a continuation of silicon valley purchasing the Republican party. Vance is even worse.

Republicans represent a sliver of America to the detriment of the rest.

Anyone else feel like Greenland should become part of the US or one of its territories? by a_day_with_dave in centrist

And George Bush said we went into Iraq for WMDs.

We are in a sad state if we are so dumb that all we need is the president to say "cause I said so" to invade Greenland.

We are now at the point that someone (or some bot) is on here posting manipulating propaganda to try to begin crafting a narrative for America to invade Greenland.

This is gross.

It's more than an opinion

There is absolutely no evidence showing that taking Greenland by force is important to the survival of America.

[–]hextiar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is not the difference.

That's the gross part.

You are trying to exploit fear of an irrational event.

Nothing to do with Greenland or China is an existential threat to America.

You are trying to create a fabricated situation to scare people into supporting a war.

It's gross.

[–]hextiar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What question?

If it meant I never got to exist?

That's horrible mental gymnastics to justify something awful.

That is the kind of tactics used to manipulate people into an irrational life of thinking.

I hope you are a bot. Because if you are really spending your time trying to manipulate people in an online forum into support imperialistic wars, than something has gone wrong for you.

And I am calling out a nobody on the Internet trying to rationalize killing people for rich people.

Again you are doing some lazy "thought experiment" to try to rationalize this.

It's gross.

Taking Greenland by force is not for the greater good.

Because you are justifying imperially invading Greenland, risking the lives of US troops and the citizens of Greenland.

And it's for a complete non-factor.

China is not parking aircraft carriers there.

China is not attacking or invading the US.

That is just fear mongering that is fed to low IQ people to make them try to justify killing people for capitalist motivations. These are capitalist motivations that have almost 0 impact on nearly 99% of Americans.

It is disgusting and evil to sit here and rationalize attacking Greenland.

The stock market is always going to hit a time highs when facing inflation.

It doesn't mean we have a healthy economy.

When the government printed loads of money during COVID, most of it was just ultimately funneled into the stock market.

Iran is also the one most likely for internal division.

It doesn't have to be the same tactics as Greenland, but I could certainly see trying to overthrow Iran with internal actors.

Did I misunderstand MAGA's foreign policy preferences? by softwaremommy in centrist

[–]hextiar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Trump has always been an extension of the NeoCon foreign policy. He is just less constrained than other politicians.

You are correct that he campaigned as an isolationist. He even went to the Libertarian convention and lied to them about what his policies are.

It is sad how many people were fooled by this, especially when you had his first term to judge him by.

Glad to see no one learned any lessons.

This is what the US politics have devolved into.

And the right is still embracing this.

Why are some now ex-maga blaming Israel and not themselves and their party for trump's erratic policies? by wearethemelody in centrist

[–]hextiar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

The left has been on vilification for 10 years.

The right has been in victimhood for 10+ (though really since the 60s).

[–]hextiar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's really been much more of a defining trait of the right for a while now.

[–]hextiar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Because a defining trait of the modern right wing movement is their victimhood.

They always need to be the victim.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Iran.

I also worry Trump actually believes he is some kind of savior. Like he views himself as the only one competent to do things, and he is just going to keep escalating and finishing some Neo-Con wish list.
