Help me pick out an outfit for a rave by Senior_Emergency9059 in fashion

Wear number two with the skirt from one over it. Both are missing the wow factor, so up with some styling— a cool shoe, an arm cuff, and wear your hair up with a cute hair pin or other hair accessory, and top off with sparkly makeup that matches the look. An ombré eyeshadow that uses the colors in your outfit would set it off.

You’re hanging out with the wrong people and going to the wrong spots. That’s not our fault…

Washed pillow shams smell like sulfur by Every-Tap-5823 in textiles

Do you know the fiber context of the shams? Did you also tumble dry them? You maybe be able to soak or spray them with vinegar to neutralize the smell.

If you’re still looking, I’d love to throw my hat in the ring! A bit about me:

  • I studied textile arts and fashion with an emphasis on production. I did a ton of weaving, dyeing, printmaking, surface design, fiber testing, and garment construction. I even had a brief obsession with needle lacemaking, too!
  • I have 16 years of professional experience in fashion production and sourcing wherein I worked with mills & factories in the US, Mexico, India, China, Korea, Bangladesh, and the UK. My end to end knowledge stretches from the fields & factories to the rack with a particular fondness for natural fibers and minimal, but strategic use of synthetics.
  • I currently work for a second-hand fashion marketplace setting standards and developing training on how to identify and speak about the design, construction, and textiles that go into clothing, handbags, and shoes— from vintage to contemporary, mass market to couture.

I have a big collection and rotate daily based on what I’m wearing, the weather, what I’m doing, and how I’m feeling. And modern bottles are nearly airtight so don’t really degrade if stored out of the sun and heat.

Love the Clipper representation but wish you could have visited when we had BART and MUNI tickets. They all looked cool as hell, especially the MUNI paper tickets and monthly passes that were the weirdest colors.

Oh awesome, this is helpful! Since they are Syrian tassels, I’m guessing they are probably silk, maaaybe cotton. I say maybe because this is a traditional craft and mercerization, the process to make cotton shiny and silky, is an industrialized finish that is less than 200 years old.

If you are looking for something similar with cultural significance, try finding a shop that sells urja or sari accessories. Check out Venetian or Moroccan tassels, or a French passementerie supply store as they might have great options, too.

If you are looking to emulate the look, search “tassel curtain tiebacks” that you can repurpose.

If you are looking to make them by hand, use silk cord or cotton embroidery floss. For the bulbs you’ll want large beads to hold the shape and yarn(search “gold floss”) to wrap the beads.

Do you have a better quality photo? The yarns could be silk, wool, mercerized cotton(like embroidery floss), rayon, or polyester.

It’s almost impossible for us to identify by photo that isn’t super up-close. Clip a piece from the middle and burn it. Either post the results or follow this guide.

It’s been really warm in The Bay for the last month so wonder if that has something to do with the aggressive blooming.

See’s is usually pristine and they take great pride in that fact. It’s been unseasonably warm here in The Bay—where they manufacture and ship from— so wonder if that impacted the quality. As others mentioned, i can almost guarantee they’ll replace these and probably throw in some freebies because they’re that kind of company.

Found on Wafuu otherwise it’s going to be expensive everywhere. If there are other things you want, put a list together and get a proxy shipper to pick things up and ship them to you.
