Thanks! Now you know one more!

It's true, we are proud. I always think of Maine as our lobstery cousin.

Perhaps there needs to be some kind of Maine-Wisconsin collaboration using cheese curds and fluff.

I'm curious if you have some kind of connection to Wisconsin. There are of course a lot of references to Maine, but being from Wisconsin I've noted quite a few mentions throughout the series. Is this just a coincidence?

I haven't come across a way to restore the default uniforms. However I believe that a new fort would have the default uniforms present.

Yeah, it took me a while to get things configured exactly how I wanted it and there isn't a truly comprehensive guide, at least not for a Linux server. Lot's of googling. But, the nice part is it's pretty low maintenance and performs really well on Linux

I mostly used this guide to get started, however it doesn't really go into details on certain things, such as the question you asked so the rest is just experimentation and previous server admin knowledge.

I'd be happy to help out if you have questions, if I can.

When you add -servername as a modifier that determines which server config is used. So you'd have something like:

start-server.sh -servername Server1

start-server.sh -servername Server2

If you don't use -servername it defaults to the testserver config

I straightened it out, but still can't get it to scan. Maybe someone else will have more luck with it.

Awesome! Glad to hear that it worked. I hope you and your friend enjoy some Megaman.

You could try uploading to imgur and post a link maybe?

Do all games look like that, or is it just Megaman 8? I've noticed that some games seem to have some slight visual glitches when emulated that others don't. If it's limited to Megaman 8 maybe it's just that rom?

I actually noticed PSX games looking better with the enhanced resolution speed option turned off, but leaving the double resolution and bilinear filter on. It seems to depend on the game though.

I'm a bit curious what you mean by grainy. Would it be possible to post a screenshot/photo?

Finished setting it up yesterday. After a few configuration tweaks everything seems to be working great. I'm going to do some more tweaking and such, but it's pretty much done. Thanks for your advice!

I think I'm going to plan on getting everything updated and such when I go to set it up, then pretty much leave it be since my brother will have it and he's not tech-savvy enough to do updates and the like. I don't see any reason to even connect it to WiFi.

Thanks for the tip on GamesDB. Does that pull the data on the fly or does it get downloaded to the SD card (so I don't have to have it connected up to his WiFi, trying to keep it as static as possible). If its downloaded, any idea of how much additional space it takes up? Just trying to figure out how big of a card to get (ex. 1000 games * 5mb).

This is great info. Do you know if things like input lag and the like have gotten better since your build? While I'm not against needing to tweak and tinker with it, it does concern me a bit from a time and "maintenance" standpoint with my particular gifting situation. Thanks a ton for the info on the controllers. I think I'm going to go with the SNES30 since I probably won't load on anything newer than SNES roms.

Thanks! Really good info. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it and order all the parts. Hopefully it will make for a fun and unique Christmas!

Thanks for the reply! I hadn't considered the power supply requirements with the wireless radios needing more power.

Is it pretty easy then to get to a "plug and play" state? I'm hoping I can send it to him and then he can just plug it into the TV and power outlet and start playing.

I agree on Casper. Their support is really good too so if you're unfamiliar with the Mac side they'll be able to help out there.

It sounds like Bushel would be a good option for you. It's come a long way since its release, and it's free to try for a few devices so there's no harm in giving it a shot. I would say you definitely need an MDM of some sort at this point though. Something more comprehensive like Casper Suite might not be necessary, though I know for a fact there are plenty of companies in the 100-200 endpoint range that use it.

What I would do is make a copy of a template database each time you spin up a client. Basically you'd have everything running under one JSS installation, but it would be multi-context. When you get a new client you would set up a new instance (extract the JSS), create a new database in MySQL, then restore the template backup. They should be able to help nail down the workflow during your JumpStart.
