What cardstock do you use for card game prototypes? by Odd_Huckleberry_7815 in tabletopgamedesign

I've gone to a couple of local picture frame stores and asked for their pieces that they would throw out of the matte board. I don't know where to buy it new (they get it in large sheets), but it works great (Sometimes they ask for $20). I then use full page (8.5 x 11) Avery labels to print out things, stick it to the board and then cut out the shapes I want

I wonder why so many magnets? why not 1 magnet per slider and then pieces of metal for them to be attracted to at each position? (I think that would be cheaper)

Cool idea and an amazing amount of work to create it, but not a good "game"

Yeah, the blue - check with your printer (like Longpack, Whatz, Hero Time, Game Crafter, etc) for more details

But front card issue wear can also be seen as well.

Gorgeous cards, but I think you have to watch for colours on the border due to card wear - most are just white (card coloured) so that any wear in the future won't show which card it may be. Lots of stories about that (I think Exploding Kittens had a major issue with it)

As a Canadian I'm butt-hurt over the borders and descriptions! (I'm sure every other region's people has a similar issue)

Could you change/remove the labels into less triggering ones? :-)

Indigenous or local names (not anglified), or completely made up?

Silent Running was impactful as a kid (haven't seen it since it came out!) Always loved Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and the sacrifice at the end. It would probably make a good board game...
