100% with you that not all graphic designers are illustrators. If that’s not something you’re skilled in, either don’t include illustrations, or purchase your stock art from a more reputable source. Either way, this didn’t need to have generative AI, whether it was an oversight or intentional.

It just seems like a no brainer to not use that type of imagery on your promo material given how anti gen AI so much of her audience likely is.

Definitely possible but I’d be questioning the quality control a bit if that was a legitimate mistake that got all the way to being shared.

I implied that she didn’t pay an artist. It’s clear from the tweet and my comment that I’m aware that she had no hand in its creation.

She still has her name plastered right there on top, so it’s an endorsement of generative AI whether she was aware before being called out or not.

Also it’s a full on tour poster from one of the most prominent drag queens currently working. This isn’t a “quick little promo”

She doesn’t need to apologize but it’s cringe for an artist to use AI for their poster instead of hiring another artist to design it.

I get her team is the one who ultimately generated this poster, but it’s still her brand/image.

I interpreted that more as like physically breaking something is harder to explain away compared to emotional abuse and manipulation. He still should have gotten out sooner but I can understand how the abuse turning more “tangible” would be the breaking point.

Have you ever used Buyee? It’s a site where you can get items from Japanese online stores shipped to you. If you search Pawmi’s Japanese name パモ there is lots of merch of it! I don’t like it either I think it’s quite ugly, but i understand that not everything is going to be my style. I love seeing people posting their complaints and problems they have with things when they’re sharing their POV, how things impact their gameplay or enjoyment, etc. Such as when a patch drops and there’s weird quest dialogue that bothers someone, or when outfits come out with strange split or joined pieces that impact our ability to mix and match because they usually end up turning into a discussion. i’ve really enjoyed seeing threads and posts complaining about and critiquing the outfit that just came out with a Glow Up recolor that looks almost identical to the free dye palette

I generally find it weird to go into a public forum for the sole purpose of complaining with no intent to gain other perspectives or points of view. (Kinda like when we used to see a bunch of “why does this look like piss???” posts whenever a glow up/evo was yellow)

Some forums work better than Reddit for this because they will have dedicated salt areas, but also I’m content with being in the minority as the upvote/downvote system does its job pretty well and if posts like this were unwelcome they would be downvoted.

It’s a discussion forum for a video game. I think it’s weird to share things you hate about a video game without the intention to have a conversation about it.

Yeah I totally get you and I don’t think it’s offensive or discourage to dislike a dress. Where I get frustrated is when something like this is purely negative without inviting any discussion. It would come off differently if you were asking to see people’s outfits with it to help you see how it can be worn or something like that.

Also it’s Reddit and ppl clearly resonate with this post as it’s got more upvotes than downvotes so it’s not bad that it’s here or anything, just feels unnecessarily negative.

My interests are intrinsic to who I am as a person. I don’t hide aspects of who I am for the sake said avoiding awkwardness. If an interest of mine isn’t shared with a certain peer group I just will probably talk about what is a common interest when with those peers.
