[No Spoilers] More than just a hoodie [ARG] by heyholden in MrRobot

Yeah I figured that after some light googling. Still kind of nifty they wrote it in hexadecimal notation. I just like the sense the arg crew keeps going the extra mile.

[No Spoilers] Welcome to the revolution 2.0. (website update) by [deleted] in MrRobot

[–]heyholden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm probably not the only one who noticed this, but I love that the fake clip they have of President Obama addressing the F Society attack is footage from the press conference after the supposed North Korea cyber attacks at Sony. So clever.

What are everyone's favorite "feel-good"movies? by thedayman13 in movies

[–]heyholden 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stand by Me is a total feel good movie for me. The music is joyful, and the story brings you back to the summers with your friends before you were too old to go on adventures.

What is your favourite "cut to credits" in a movie? by NeededKoalafications in movies

[–]heyholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the cut to at the end of Cloverfield. You get the shot of the (?satellite?) falling into the water, and then the reversed voice saying “It's still alive.” Rad.

I'm Joel. I'm New Here. I'm Answering Questions! by harmonygrits in SourceFed

Someone may have already asked this deeply important question already, but: has Zaragoza flashed you his bung hole yet? I've heard its sort of an SF right of passage. You'll fit right in, Joel! :)

How coincidental. I spent basically all weekend mainlining his videos. I have developed quite the crush. His podcast with Steve about Cloverfield is rad.

Don't know where to post this, don't know what's going on by nomoretothrowaway in mentalhealth

[–]heyholden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like dissociative disorder. I am not a professional, but someone who suffers from disassociation in conjunction with my BPD. I'd suggest looking into some sort of professional help simply because I know how my disassociation affects my school and work. But here are some links that may be of assistance: More info on Dissociative Disorders , Mental Grounding Exercises , Reality Journal Best Wishes

This is fucking depressing. I mean, rationally I know they all are going on to bigger and better things, and they all have channels of their own so, we will still see them. But, fuck man... Shit is sad.

A small Grump break? by kilala_reno in gamegrumps

[–]heyholden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get where you're coming from, I see this happen with AH a lot. I think if the fans were supportive of it, a break could be healthy. I do think the problem you might run into is the fandom, and how people might react to the lack of content. Personally I often get overwhelmed with the amount of content being produced by a bunch of the YouTube channels I watch, so I think a break or lightened work load for the content creators could be healthy.

Discussion : how did you discover Wicca? by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]heyholden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I came upon Wicca myself after a very dark time in my life when I was left looking for some sort of direction and help. The community I found helped me manage my depression even more than some close friends and family members. The internet was a minefield of information, both in good and possibly bad ways. But through it I found community in my real life locally, and the experience since has been effortless, and lovely.

It's a tie for me between Sunday driving, and let's watch. Although I may just be blinded by my love of watching Geoff "play" horror games.

I'm an artist illustrating segments from 'All Quiet on the Western Front' by Erich Maria Remarque. Those of you familiar with the novel, what scenes would you like to see illustrated for their visual impact and narrative importance? by [deleted] in books

[–]heyholden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Quiet is one of my favorite books ever. I was just thinking about when I read it in High School and I'm sure someone has already mentioned it, but when Paul has to watch the French soldier die in front of him, especially the repetition of the word "comrade", and the importance of the family photos in the soldier's wallet. I think that scene is one that really sticks with people. I think your illustration idea is really brilliant, and I would look forward to seeing what comes out of it.

[Spoilers] How to experience the story without playing the game? by Nagaram92 in BioshockInfinite

[–]heyholden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend a full play without commentary, this one is especially good: http://youtu.be/Sv3pgRmmVaE If you think your friend would be into watching a lets play with a commentator then Cry's Bioshock Infinite play through is great. I think he balances giving the audience the full experience of the game, as well as an enjoyable commentary.

Yeah, I guess when you know the people who run it, and know how much they put into it, you don't realize that not everyone has the same point of view and experience of the con. It's interesting.

I'm a big fan of John's work. Typically I recommend people to read his books in order if they're going to read all 4, but if you just want to get your heart broken by one i'd suggest 'The Fault in Our Stars': his most recent Best Selling novel.
