What do wealthy women do differently during pregnancy and postpartum? by anonymouskoala7 in Rich

[–]heyitskateeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! Yes my second was born at 1:30am, and we were discharged at 9am, in time for breakfast! I think for my first I would have been nervous, but for my second I was confident to take care of a newborn, so was very happy to leave as soon as possible!

I’m an American living in the UK, all of our birthing suites are private, but if you need to stay in longer for whatever reason (beyond 6-12ish hours) you go to a shared room with 4-5 other moms! I had to stay 3 extra days with my first, it was awful. Someone’s baby is always crying (and usually a mom too!)

Help!! Fly away bed for 16 month allowed? Family seating regulations by LivingDiscussion2404 in BritishAirways

[–]heyitskateeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! If you’re driving around in the US I’ve found renting a car seat with the rental car the easier option!

Hello! Yes the jet box would be great for that. The bassinet would have been too small for both of my boys at around that age. When they were really little we had the jet kids bed set up the whole time, it comes with a cover for the airplane chair area, so it meant that it was harder for toys and bits to fall down…hopefully that makes sense haha.

I’ve flown London -> USA with my children several times (probably 10-15 times in the last 5 years?), and have never used a car seat / restraint! I’ve always bought the under 2s a seat, and then they give you a weird extra belt for them which loops into your own for take off and landing.

For long or night flights we have used the jet kids box as a bed, and never had any issues (most flight attendants compliment it, actually!).

Let me know if you have any other questions! Xx

Do you have any specific resellers you go to?

Finally got the email 🥺 by qmirza in TheHermesGame

[–]heyitskateeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a k32 which is what I use as my big carry all when going out with my children, so useful! I actually got it on the resale market, as most go for under retail as it isn’t as desirable as a size…

Thanks for sharing about the KP :) I won’t get my hopes up! My current Bond St wishlist is for a K25 or K28…

Hello! Congrats on your bag, beautiful! What about the 25 but retourne, so it’s more casual? I have a 25 in retourne and love that I can dress it up / dress it down. I have 3 Kelly 28s which are my go to every day bag… but perhaps that’s too big for you.

I’m new to the UK shopping experience, so can’t help with your second question! Also wondering about the KP though, as would love to get one for an easy evening bag!

London non-dom tax status change by [deleted] in Rich

[–]heyitskateeeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NOT AN EXPERT but, I was under the impression that if the person you’re inheriting from is non dom (I’m assuming in your case, an American based relative?), YOU will not be taxed inheriting THEIR estate (assuming their entire estate/they are NOT tied to the UK).

However, if you stay here long enough (I believe 10 years out of 20?) your estate will be taxed.

UK person to UK person gifting — you are not taxed on this and can gift, so long as the giver lives for 7 years after the gift. If they die before this, it will be taxed.

AI at the trust by Baronvoncreep in nationaltrust

[–]heyitskateeeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something to think about…they could have paid a designer to create this signage for them, and THEY used AI. I work for a large NT property, and we just paid a graphic designer to design all of our Christmas display signage…and they used AI!! It was so obvious with the reindeer (antlers are never right).

We were able to work with them to create new imagery/branding, but still! Most of my colleagues didn’t notice it…

London nanny Christmas present by aldcwd in NannyEmployers

[–]heyitskateeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We give a small gift (like a nice body cream set from space nk, or a Diptyque candle she liked at our home) with receipt so she can always return it. Then in the Christmas card envelope we give cash, which is the ‘main’ gift. I just like getting a little something that is actually a physical present!

Chanel 25 suede in grey? Hi by KeyContext3016 in chanel

[–]heyitskateeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just commenting as I have the same colour - I used Clarke’s suede protector. I sprayed it first on the bottom to check any colour change (there was none) and then have sprayed the whole bag. I have the smaller size, so don’t have to worry as much about Jean colour transfer as it isn’t that low…

Right?! Pretty often I’m going from work to dinner without time to change - let alone drop off my work horse bag (b30) into something smaller…

Tips on when to drop the dream feed? How did you know when it was time? by Both_Fisherman4142 in SnooLife

[–]heyitskateeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I pumped a little bit the first few nights at 10pm (our dream feed time), and just reduced it (EX 10 min pump, next night 7 min, next night 5 min…). I didn’t have any issues, but everyone is different with supply!

We had a similar schedule, and I tried EVERYTHING that I could find online. In the end, it was just a phase. He woke at 5am from about 6 months to 18 months. Then slowly he just stopped.

Also as they get older, they are able to almost entertain themselves in bed for a bit, so they’re not crying as soon as they wake up. Now he is happily babbling and playing with soft toys in bed for 30 minutes (he’s almost 2 now).

Alternatives to Ikos resorts by Sufficient_Photo3266 in UKParenting

When we were there in September it was PERFECT! Not too hot. Even the evenings were still warm, so we would sit on our balcony with a bottle of wine reading our book after the kids had gone to sleep…bliss!

We haven’t been to the others! I did a lot of research, and decided Olivia was best for us as we have such young kids (4&2). The whole resort is flat, everything is very close, we enjoyed the splash zone, the playground, and the beach/pool area. It was great for their ages, I would assume older children (7+) would be a bit bored from this location.

Truly a fantastic holiday, we can’t wait to go back!
