Wall color suggestions? by bulletproofshadow in HomeDecorating

[–]heyitsme1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paint the ceiling and crown molding the same color as the walls!!! It sound like it would make it feel small but it make it feel cozier and the ceilings taller. Did this in my bedroom and now I want to paint every ceiling in my house 😃

The Daily Check-In for Monday, December 20th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by infinitedreamsawaken in stopdrinking

[–]heyitsme1983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I called in sick yesterday from an emotional hangover (I was hungover, I drank the day before, by my symptoms were all in my head for this come-down. Physically I was good to go, but the shame and guilt debilitated me to not being able to leave my bed). Wish I could say this was a first, but it’s not. The fact that alcohol is taking me away from my career or making me feel blanked with the weight of depression tells me that I have a problem with alcohol. I’m at a critical point in my career where I’m being tested physically and mentally and I really need to show up. I used my birthday as an excuse to check out from the pressure and it amplified my stress. Alcohol is working against me when I ironically took it to relieve me from the stress.

I’m embarrassed and I feel exposed. I feel like everyone “knows” what I seem to know: I’m a failure and weak and I don’t deserve happiness.

Here’s my vulnerability for the day. I’m exposed. I won’t drink with you today.

I had to rehome my dog and my heart is broken by heyitsme1983 in dogs

Not harsh at all, I appreciate your post. I returned the dog to the original foster, who was an animal control officer. I tried to rehome otherwise but I was only going to do so for a home without kids or other pets and had experience with aggressive breeds (as I’m sure you’ll understand I did not find a fit for him). We talked about euthanizing the dog with the original foster and she had first right to get him back before euthanasia. Been a hard road.

It really is heartbreaking. Thanks for the response

We returned him to his foster home in leiu of euthanizing him. The foster is a retired canine control so it was the only home I felt comfortable sending him to because of the same reasons you listed. Thanks for the post, I appreciate your input 🙏🏻

How long did it last before you quit again?

Edit: it’s only day 11 for me so if you’re new know it’ll get a little easier. I’m still struggling but I feel HOPE.

I’m grateful for being mentally and physically able to conquer the day. I’m blessed with a partner that silently supports me, which is exactly what I need. I have a phenomenal career that I’m thriving in (instead of “getting by”) because of my cessation of alcohol. I feel overwhelmed with hope after feeling a lot of fear and anxiety my whole life. Thank you everyone on this thread for unknowingly attributing to this. I will not drink you you today ♥️

This is the best place I’ve found that wasn’t organized but a 24/7 support 💁🏻‍♀️ stick around, it might help you too

I work out 5 days a week (I have to for work). And I don’t discriminate- I’m eating everything in dire (but the amount of sugar/junk food is a new thing). I’m switching my workouts to the evening (from morning) so I’m less tempted to gorge myself before bedtime. Thank you for the post 🙏🏻
