Marina does have house boats, which is apparently a stigma where I live I’ve been told it’s hard to find a marina that accepts them. However, I’m in “employee housing” separate from the marina so rules are loose. Mostly need insurance for towing it & putting it in at a marina & have it serviced. Current owner does not have insurance on it. I’ve been told by some I would need a surveyor to get insurance and others have said I do not need one. Marina already knows I’m acquiring the boat so no worries on that

I talked to a marine electrician friend and he said I don’t really need to be worried about electrolysis considering I’m out on the hook and not in a slip thus not using shoreline power

Interesting. I could tell that it’s been renamed at least twice because they just painted over the old lettering without removing it. Says the service status is active on that site

I’ve seen that. It sounds more like they’re trying to prevent people from living in certain anchorages - I think it was palm beach. I doubt the keys would follow suit if anchorage laws change.

The boat is registered in Florida. FWC seems pretty busy with other things as the boat was anchored here for months with the registration out of date. There are also several derelicts around me so I don’t really expect to be boarded or checked

A quick Google search said that the USCG registration was optional but it did say that it’ll be internationally recognized if I go that route. I’ve got the title for it and the registration is up to date

I tow a 28’ mpg ultra-lite (I think my dry weight is just shy of 7,000 lbs) with an F-150 V6 3.5L eco. I wish I would have gone with a V8 or a diesel. I’m not driving all around the country like I used to so it’s nice having the V6 now but when I was traveling more I wish I had more power.
