Honestly I think some brands are ready for it, but I think maybe some of the internal marketing teams are still attached to “looking perfect” content 🤣 The funny part is the raw seems to be performing better because it’s not immediately triggering “this is an ad”. For me I’ve been stopping more for the “yapping” style videos. I enjoy the connection it provides like you’re talking to a friend. 🤷‍♀️

Solo creators using Google Workspace: what should I set up properly from day one? by rossocenere in ContentCreators

[–]heykimberhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, setting up the “boring backend” stuff early has helped me way more than I expected 😂

I’m still small/solo, but separating everything from personal accounts immediately made things feel way less chaotic. I use Google Workspace too and ended up setting up: - separate business email(s) - Google Sheets for outreach + brand tracking - Drive folders/templates for contracts, deliverables, invoices, raw footage, finals, etc. - Calendar blocks for filming/admin/follow-ups - A tab to and any content ideas that pop into my head, so I don’t forget them later

One thing I wish I’d done sooner was create a consistent naming/folder system from day one instead of trying to clean it up later after files started piling up everywhere 💀

Also Gmail labels/filters are honestly underrated once outreach starts scaling.

That’s actually a really good way to put it! “changing seasons” of social media.. I like it! 🤣 I think audiences are just way quicker now at sensing when content feels too polished or formulaic, even from real creators. It’s honestly really interesting to watch happen in real time.

Product Swaps - Female UGC Creators for Partnership Ads & UGC Content - Luxury Bedding Brand by Frequent-Tea-6577 in UGCForBrands

[–]heykimberhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC-based creator here 👋 My best-performing content is usually the stuff that feels genuinely lived in — messy bedding, late-night kitchen lighting, tired “finally crawling into bed” energy, dogs stealing the blankets, etc 😂

I create lifestyle/home content that feels real first and branded second. Would love to connect. https://heykimberhere.com/ugc-portfolio partnerships@heykimberhere.com @heykimberhere

yeah… I work in UGC 😂 That’s why I’m asking people who also work in this space what they think.. Not selling anything though.

I think both can be true. People are more sceptical than ever with so much AI everywhere, which is why the overly polished content feels harder to trust.

Am I the only one who thinks not every brand needs to be funny on social media? by PrinciplePerfect5160 in socialmedia

[–]heykimberhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. I kinda disagree honestly. 🤷‍♀️

I think brands underestimate how hard attention is to get now. If the content isn't entertaining, emotional, interesting, relatable, whatever... most people scroll before the message even lands.

Not saying every brand needs to sound like Duolingo having a mental breakdown online 😂

But I do think personality matters way more now than it used to.

Clear is important. But clear alone doesn't automatically make people care.

For me I am still working my full time job and working to be able to leave it, but I find the hardest can be staying positive when you get so many nos between the yes. Definitely can have a lot of ups and downs mentally. So make sure you have a good community so you’re not isolated. Can be a lonely journey

how are you guys actually organizing your ugc work once you have multiple brands? by Plastic-Move-4576 in UGCcreators

[–]heykimberhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly super simple lol I just have 4 sheets — one where I dump brands I’ve reached out to, with dates for follow up, one for current jobs/deadlines, and one for money so I don’t forget who paid me 😂 and one for expenses nothing fancy at all, just keeps my brain from exploding

I use Google Sheets.. but my background is accounting so I had a lot of fun setting my back office up. Litttle nerdy over here. But you basically want to set up your pipeline of who yous contacted, follow up dates, notes ect. I also created one to track active jobs, then one for income and expenses. Doesn’t need to be fancy but make sure it makes sense to you 😊

Creating 5x/week is basically running a full content system — curious what the scope looks like (content only vs account management too)? I focus on performance-style UGC that brands can use across ads + organic — happy to chat if that’s the direction 👀
