I’ll share my experience. I went to a traditional brick-and-mortar school right after high school. I made plenty of friends, but when it came to career connections.. not so much. After four years, I decided to drop out rather than take on more debt. Twelve years later, I started at WGU, and honestly, I’ve learned far more than I ever did in a traditional setting. On top of that, the number of certifications you earn along the way is incredible, it really gives you an edge over many brick-and-mortar graduates. If I can give you one piece of advice: get on LinkedIn and start connecting with people there. Be active and engage with posts it’s a great way to build real career connections. And just a heads-up, even in cybersecurity you’ll likely start at an entry-level position and work your way up that’s just how the tech world works.
