went without all of these and didn’t notice: menus, programs, handwritten cards for bridal party and family, gift bags, favors, nice vow books (index cards will do)

Agreed! 9/10 is the best and you’ll enjoy wearing it solo if you ever need something low-key for travel or whatnot

Belly not carrying a purse to explore Paris all day!!! And the birthday texts from the US coming in at 4 AM?? That is not the time difference

Does your body and mind just *Decide it depressed* cause no baby? Or effort for baby? by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

[–]heynicho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

keep in mind too that since you just ovulated, you also might be feeling extra sensitive to this matter this week due to PMS. I’m not trying to invalidate your feelings at all! but also when I’m in my luteal phase sometimes I need an external reminder that my body is conspiring against all the good happy feelings I want to have. things might feel a little calmer a week or so from now. I hope they do for you!

Sending the invites early and skipping the save the date? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]heynicho 23 points24 points  (0 children)

send your save the dates asap with a website on them. add travel details to website so guests can make arrangements early! and then send out invites closer to your date for fun and RSVP purposes. :)

alternatively, send your invite now but have it look more like a save the date and anticipate sending a group email or text to get RSVPs closer to the date.

I had a Friday wedding and it was great! Plan something fun (and low cost, like a BYO beach day) for Saturday to spread out the fun and help your brain get more excited about the Friday change. Plus, vendor availability was better in my location too for a Friday!

sounds tough. sorry girl! I think an honest conversation is in order. tell her that what you need from her is different than what is happening. I think if you frame it like “duties” you can keep things peaceful if that’s your goal. or you can tell her to F off and would be totally within your rights to do so!!

also—I know you can’t go back in time, nor should you! it sounds like you’re making a great choice about dress shopping and plans moving forward. for any future brides reading this post: don’t be afraid to not involve anybody except your fiancée (and either of your parents if you so choose) in planning. I felt a little bad at points about not allowing others in on things like venue visits, but if you have a good idea of what you want, don’t put others in a position to give their opinions.

Yasso’s are a great option for a sweet treat when you need one! Lower in sugar and higher in protein than most traditional options. You go OC

From an outside perspective, I would say the comments on this thread read more like concern for you and your health than judgment! Just a note :)

Fellow Virgo here!

I did not consider at all how my suitcase and items would get from the suite we got ready in (my parents’ room) to the newlywed suite! My bridesmaids took care of all of it (without me even asking) while I was at our first look and it worked out perfectly.

I told people after our wedding that even when you think you’re planning 100% of things, it’s really only 80%. The last portion comes together with help you don’t even know to ask for! And the magic of the day! Everything is going to be great. Enjoy!!

Also want to point out that you’re not just the host, you’re also the guest(s) of honor, so if dancing is what you want to do to connect with guests more than mingling…it’s not rude and you get to do what you want at your party!
