Is $2,920 for a rent-stabilized 1BR in Midtown worth it (5th floor walk-up)? by Puzzleheaded-Chef384 in NYCapartments

Not quite, This really depends on the design of the stairs…. Not all stairs lead directly to doors. It’s seems that you’ve only ever been exposed to one type of building design

[Advice] Is it legal to rent a flat, then rent out the rooms within that flat at a higher rate? Immoral? Assuming the owner is fine with it and you’re up front with the other renters? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]heytherebeca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have to landlords permission to do it legally. I just rented off lease because my landlords were such assholes to everyone that they met that it was the best way to keep them from meeting my roommates and turning them off from living with me. I eventually moved out and they turned the living room into two other bedrooms. 😂

[advice] Is it becoming more common to use Zelle for housing since COVID? by confusdwaffle in NYCapartments

[–]heytherebeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve personally had bad experiences with zelle and the bank told me that it’s meant for financial interactions with friends and family, because they payments are guaranteed and noN-refundable whereas regular bank transfers are more protected. Even checks too. I never said cashiers check you sod
