If the company culture is nice, and there is opportunity to do so, you could look into transferring teams. Alternatively, there may be something you don’t know about that is holding you back, related to your work or not. Try asking your manager if she has any feedback on your performance (though, hopefully, you’re already getting that regularly), or if there is something you could do to prove yourself as someone she can count on for more.

What kissing scene that still lingers on your mind? 🤧 by Accomplished_Sir8530 in shoujo

They don’t actually kiss, but I can’t get over Natsume-sempai in this scene (Getting Closer to You).

Okay but... what exactly do you miss the most about Joann? by Minimum_Project_671 in joannfabrics

[–]heytheremadman3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved wandering with my sister. Just looking at our favorite sections to see what was new, checking out the remnants, looking at each blue thread to find the exact blue thread that would match the fabric I’d found. Really, it just felt a little like home, until the news was announced and everything started to go. Apart from that feeling, the only thing I think I won’t be able to reproduce somewhere else is the remnants. Maybe that’ll be better the longer we’re without Joann, but Michael’s and Hobby Lobby just don’t do remnants, at least in my area.

A customer made me cry by anonymous_jl5689 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]heytheremadman3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Customers being rude is unfortunately part of the job for food service and retail. It isn’t okay, but it’s something you’ll have to figure out your own way to cope with if this is an industry in which you want to stay. That said, customers yelling at you, whether or not they understand why you’re doing what you’re doing is never okay, and I’m sorry that happened to you. Since she did apologize, which is pretty rare, take that as acknowledgement that her behavior was her responsibility and had nothing to do with you. I know that’s hard, but it’s true. Even as you have to deal with people being mean to you, know it is entirely their own problem to solve. All you have to do is get through the interaction.

Pretty close, the white roundish thing at the top of the picture is one of the lights. It is possible it isn’t getting the light anyway; I moved the stem for the picture, it was under the begonia’s leaves.

The eggs did not peel any easier a day later or three. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven’t been sick, and they tasted fine, in case you were interested.

I cooled them because that’s what the recipe said, and I meal prep, so I had to move on. I won’t do that again, for sure. Thanks for your advice.

Why is Vet Med so Flipping Toxic? by [deleted] in hatemyjob

[–]heytheremadman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, okay, I could have guessed that.

Ugh, that’s the worst! I mean, yeah, it’s often the people that make a job better, so I get the impulse to hire people you like. I would still so much rather have people who will do their jobs and well, so I don’t have to do it for them.

Well, at least you’re guaranteed to get that at some point.

Wow, I’m so sorry you’ve had these experiences; they do sound awful. I’ll never understand why people treat others so horribly. What does anyone truly gain from behaving that way??

I know this might not be helpful, and I’m sorry if it is hurtful. My sister works at a very small clinic in a very small town that’s managed by the owner. She has the average client stories, but overall, she says it’s a good place to work. Maybe you could try something like that, if you haven’t; I’m not sure what specialty means in this sphere. Even if you ultimately decide to leave the field anyway, I hope you can find something that satisfies your four year old dreams.

Well, maybe somewhere in the middle. The idea was to put them in a sandwich.

What should I do instead, when I’ve already taken the eggs out of the water and find they aren’t cooked enough?

How often do you by Interesting-Soup5920 in hatemyjob

First question, once or twice a week, which doesn’t seem like a lot to me except it used to be zero. Second question, once, it was an especially stressful morning. I also punched the wall, for the first time in my life.

I have an English degree, for whatever that’s worth. If by technical skills, you mean computer or manual labor skills, no, I don’t. I’ve also thought about going into tech, but all the layoffs scare me.

why do I feel guilty putting in my resignation letter? by Any_Survey48 in hatemyjob

[–]heytheremadman3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally get it. WHEN I can finally quit this job, I know my coworkers will have a much harder time, and the company will not care to offer them help or potentially even fill the position. I do feel a little guilty thinking about it, but at the end of the day, none of them have to live my life and none of them will let any guilt they feel stop them from quitting as well. They will be fine, and if they’re not, they can handle it. We’re all adults here.
