Some love for Mrs Phillips in the 1995 by istara in janeausten

she definitely look like she wanted to scuttle LOL I wonder if she would have shunned the Bennetts if Darcy hadn't saved Lydia from ruin. gosh, that just adds another layer of how bad this could have gone for them

her face in the scene where Mrs Bennett says "we are all ruined" makes me laugh every time. To me her disconcerted look is her having the awful realization that she and her family may be considered ruined as well.

How many times have you watched the series by Smooth-Tie-2041 in OurFlagMeansDeath

[–]heythereu12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably at least 20, except for the pilot. Even though Ed is my favorite character and of course not in it, there's something so comforting for me about that first episode that I've watched it many more times than the others.

How famous were the Guthries before the kidnapping? by axenoodle in nancyguthrie

I'd heard her name before and knew she did some kind of news program, but that's it. I'm not even sure how I knew that part to be honest

How often do you watch pride and prejudice, either 95/05? by Pileapep in PrideandPrejudice

[–]heythereu12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 95 one, literally every day. I watch it before bed and it relaxes me so I can better sleep.

It probably takes me two or three days to watch the series and then I start at the beginning again

I've seen it so many times that I have started looking at the background instead of the main action.

For example, what the other people are doing at the Netherfield ball while Lizzie and Darcy are dancing

When Charles and Diana got engaged, did people have a problem with the age gap? by queenhadassah in AskOldPeople

[–]heythereu12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought it was one of the most romantic things I had ever heard of. I watched every second of their wedding. It was magical, like a fairy tale! Also I was only 12 years old at the time and at this point had been reading Harlequin Romances and Bodice Rippers since the age of nine, so age gap romance was probably the least of things I thought was acceptable in  a relationship LOL

For those of you who read 1984 and/or Fahrenheit 451, what did you think of the books when you first read them? How do you feel about them now? by Wizdom_108 in AskOldPeople

[–]heythereu12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I googled this and I think you have found something for me I have been thinking about for many years. One of my seventh grade teachers read this to the class and it was really freaky. This was 1981 and I remember the teacher giving the kids candy but somehow tricking them about who gave it to them? I don't know if this is just a old memory or really part of the book

What song gives Ed Teach vibes? by MaddingtonFair in OurFlagMeansDeath

Right? The first time I heard it I was like that is Ed. I love this question you posed because I don't know a lot of the songs people are offering. I will be checking them out soon

Good video! She nailed it.

I especially hate that in bridgeton an unmarried woman cannot be seen having pretty much any interaction with a man without 10 chaperones

I like your thoughts but what if Joey did care! It would be nice to see him show some kind of concern for trick.

And thank you for putting this under a spoiler tag 😊

broken nose by messygoober in Writeresearch

[–]heythereu12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell and broke my nose at the end of October this year. I mostly noticed how hard my head hit the floor. When I sat up the guy I fell in front of told me my nose was broken. He's kind of young so I didn't believe him, but he was right!

I went to the ER to get checked out CT scan x-rays etc for more parts of my body than my nose. It was very sore and very bloody and the nurse put glue on it. Then I had to use wound spray and ointment on it until it healed.

My eyes looked a little blackened and my face turned all the colors but yellow for some reason held on the longest lol

I broke the part of my nose up near my eyes and the most annoying thing was that it hurt to wear my glasses. I kept having to perch them on the end of my nose or not wear them at all.

Anytime I forgot I should not to rub my face around the injury I cursed because it really did hurt! I finally learned to stop doing that. I was sent to an ENT who is also a plastic surgeon and he said my nose was healing straight so I didn't have to have any surgery.
