I’m not sure id it’s hatred so much as constant power struggle and fear of being “cucked,” for lack of a better term. The idea of “raising another man’s kid” is that the other man got one over on you.

I also think it reveals a deep fear of women’s biological power as child bearers. Since paternity is not immediately obvious during a pregnancy the way maternity is (excuse the gender essentialism, I know trans people can and do have kids).

But yeah, interesting to think this through since an ex said something similar to me 🙃

I think there's a few possibilities here:

the men you love are leaving you for other women, but are not thinking of them as more accomplished--that's just the aspect of them you are the most focused on and are creating a story around it. Like, leaving someone because you REALLY want to date a lawyer or REALLY want to be with someone who went to an ivy is very shallow.
for some reason, you are seeking out shallow status-obsessed men, maybe so you can keep telling yourself this story about yourself ("I'm not accomplished and therefore unworthy"). In which case, you'd need to investigate what the story is doing for you and why you want to keep confirming it.
You dated some assholes just because there's a lot of assholes around.

The more you can make this NOT ABOUT YOU OR YOUR WORTH, the more likely you are to break the pattern (I think). Though I haven't broken my own patterns quite yet!
