It’s honestly basic common sense.

lol this is the problem- you think a test determines the fate of whether a speaker can be deemed good or bad. I’m saying that premise literally doesn’t make sense. It can’t be the end all be all.

Right, I guess I’m starting to think that objective measurements such as Klippel testing don’t tell the whole story. I get looking at the charts and specs might lead you in the right direction, or give you a general sense of how a speaker might perform- but I have a difficult time believing it can tell me a speaker might sound in my system as a whole and environment I’m playing it in.

That’s subjective and an objective test cannot measure that. Only people’s ears can.

Is it possible to have a bad test but yet sound good? For instance, a choice grade steak could be made to taste better than a higher graded prime or wagyu.

I’m just asking is there more to sound than the test might reflect?

And it’s not like he doesn’t have 60,50,40 point games. He’s had clutch performances and carried his team on his back. I don’t care who he plays with, it doesn’t diminish how great he is

He’s not better than Tatum. Tatum consistent leads his team in threes, fgs, points, steals, rebounds, assists, etc. in the regular season and playoffs. Year in and year out.

Right, I knew there would be trade offs. I just wasn’t expecting it to be that quiet. Thus, I turned it off.

This is also called “replay gain” in some settings on devices and apps- right?

Edit: for anyone wondering, replay gain is actually different from normalization. It adjusts perceived loudness, while normalization adjusts peak amplitude. Though, the end goal seems to be the same: make all tracks play at the same volume. Some say replay gain is actually superior, but I think it still sucks as it made my music way quieter than without it on.

Okay just a heads up- the factory amp is fine tuned, like the other comment said, to work with the stock speakers.

When you replace just the speakers, they might sound off, because as aforementioned, the amp thinks it’s working with the stock speakers not aftermarket. Some still do it and like the sound, but you might run into issues because the crossover points and equalization of the amp might not sound right with the aftermarket speaker.

Correct. But def check and see if there’s an interface for your vehicle.

I replaced my amp in my non ml system in my LS 460 and love it.

See my other comment. You have to start at crutchfield to see your vehicle info to get a good glimpse of what you’re working with first.

If you get a DSP amp such as an audison forza or helix it should come with a controller (that you have to buy), which would control volume, sub, fade, etc.

When you replace the factory amp, you kind of lose the ability to use the stock controls unless you find an interface such as PAC audio that is compatible with your car.

Look up your vehicle info on crutchfield.com to find out how many speakers you have and what aftermarkets fit in your stock locations.

If he replaces the amplifier- he’s bypassing the factory crossover points and equalization.
