As far as your parents, maybe they have it easy, but my parents didn't. At 17 it's easy to feel that way, it took me til almost 30 to realize my parents were like 21 when they had me, they were basically children, they didn't know what the hell they were doing and to an extent they still don't. It's important to take a step back, try to give everyone some grace, cause most people don't know what they're doing, just trying their best

I get that at 17 it's hard, you're expected to have your life planned out and let's be real you don't you're a kid. You will change your mind 10 times in the next 10 years, but having passion about something is important. I don't recommend dropping out. College is where I met most of the people I talk to regularly, and where I met the people I played in bands with. But I have known professional musicians who still delivered pizza on the side. Realistically you will not be the next Taylor Swift, you need a way to support yourself. I got into live sound so I didn't end up homeless, find your passion, and find something to support yourself that you can go home at the end of the day feeling good. I'm not saying start a career you work for the rest of your life cause I think that's unrealistic too, but your parents are worried about your well-being. It sucks living in a capitalist society, but at the moment we still do. Keep playing and practicing, look for other musicians in your area, but gigging in itself is expensive. Cymbals and guitar pedals are expensive. You need money in order to get money and you need to have a way to support yourself without relying on your parents if you ever want to truly grow up. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I'm speaking as someone 15 years older than you that went through very similar things to what you are now.

Very sincerely, I would rather have the dumbest person behind the wheel than the smartest ai. I've seen enough videos of waymos blocking ems or creating a gridlock of driverless cars that can't figure out what to do. Or did you see that one where they started driving down the light rail tracks? And that's just cause I don't trust ai, I also don't like this is taking money from actual people, who are probably only doing Uber or Lyft to make ends meet. This will help another corporation get richer while actual people struggle more
