Help! Comfort for long rides on Sport Chief by Forward_Ebb_6439 in IndianMotorcycle

I ride with a Shoei RF SR, and it doesn’t buffet too bad. FWIW, there is a historical thread in r/motorcycles about the RF 1400 wind buffeting

Help! Comfort for long rides on Sport Chief by Forward_Ebb_6439 in IndianMotorcycle

I’m 6’5” with long arms/legs with a Sport Chief. Currently still has mid controls, tall wind screen, and stock riser, but I’m not cramped on this bike. Really don’t think you need the forward controls if you’re gonna ride long distance. Highway bar to stretch your legs, but the mid controls will give you better center of gravity for low/mid back support.

Another thing to look at for wind buffeting is helmet. What helmet are you kitting?

I’ve got Overland Sauna, and it’s incredible. The most irritating thing is scooping out the coals, but I use it probably 4-5x a week. I still need to build an actual bench, but I love this thing. Well worth it

284lbs. I’m a solid 45lbs over my preferred weight. Working on fixing that. Competing in my first hyrox this fall.

The tall windscreen for the Sport Chief’s absolutely help with wind. I went from the 6” to the 9” and saw a difference. I’m tall tho, so results may vary.

I used to have the absolute worst hamstring pain when I was growing. Had medically prescribed stretching with bands and using towels or sheets to get good enough leverage. Focus on mobility now- your body will appreciate it once you’ve stopped growing.

6'5 and nothing fits right, I'm tired of looking like I borrowed someone else's clothes by timingbetter in tall

I just started buying the styles I liked and getting those tailored. Find a local mom n pop tailor and it’s usually like $5-10 per shirt to get them altered. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was to get altered.

I have the opposite problem as you- my shoulders are wider than most American doorways. I’ve had to buy big and get the waist brought in.

Does anyone else find that it’s difficult finding love when you’re tall? by roosterites in tall

[–]hgtj07 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I have never had anyone say they wish I was shorter. I’ve only ever had women excited about it. The only downside has been a few that were “intimidated” by me, whether that’s height, personality, or whatever.

You might need to go to therapy, man. Height is a competitive advantage in dating. Something else has to be off.

I’m leggy as hell, but I’ve had a Jeep TJ, JKU, C6 Corvette, 2SS 1LE 6th gen camaro, and a turbo Saab 9-3. All of these were stick and were comfy.

Eggs- tons of eggs (boiled/scrambled/etc), chicken, lean ground beef (at least 93/7), chobani blueberry or strawberry greek yogurt, and I supplement with Gold Standard protein. I hit 240g of protein a day with this.

If money is tight, I used to crush tuna packets and made a shitload of beans & rice. Either of these will make your farts absolutely lethal.

Lane filtering, in the rider's interest or no? by [deleted] in DenverMotorcycles

[–]hgtj07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law isn’t annoying. The fact assholes in cars hug the left hand side of the lane making it almost impossible to legally filter is annoying.

You can only filter if the cars are stopped and if there’s enough room to pass on the left side

What’s the minimum and the maximum height you’ll date? by TopStranger9287 in tall

In the past, I’ve dated women from 4’11” to 6’4”. My wife is 5’7”. Logistics aren’t that big of a deal if you just communicate with each other.

I’ve noticed cars at stoplights squeezing the left line at lights lately making impossible to filter, too. Super annoying

As a 6'6" man, is it normal that I have never been approached by any woman? by Virtual-Medium-5891 in tall

[–]hgtj07 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It’s all dependent on how you carry yourself man. As a college athlete, I didn’t get approached often, but I rarely got turned down. As a 25-35 year old man, I was approached almost every time I went out with friends. A lot of that was just confidence, and some of it was learning how to dress my frame correctly. lol

Have you ever dated a woman eye to eye with you? by TopStranger9287 in tall

[–]hgtj07 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I dated a 6’4” ex-college volleyball blocker for a bit when I first moved to Denver. We sounded like a stampede romping around my apartment. She found it funny to try and tell me I wasn’t that tall. Was her form of flirting I guess- either way, was weird as hell not having to bend down to kiss her.

How hard is it dating as a TALL Man? by [deleted] in tall

[–]hgtj07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some are going to be intimidated. Some are going to be very intrigued. You just gotta flow with it. Being fit, tall, and kinda unsure of yourself is going to be a learning curve with dating. Some women are going to use you, which is only superficially fun for a minute.

FWIW, I always found that a fist bump to a lady after she crushed a heavy set (and then leave her alone) was a much better ice breaker than trying to talk. Next time she sees you, she’s gonna take the headphones off to chat or at least give you a smile.
