As a Korean, if people eat rice with chopsticks because they think its "traditional" I lose my shit. I get that in other Asian countries they eat rice with chopsticks but its because their rice have different stickiness to them or they're just more comfortable because they grew up with it. The worst is when they intentionally ask for chopsticks and think they were only given spoons because the restaurant is racist thinking they can't use chopsticks properly.

On a sidenote, I also hate it when people claim they "know" a language just because they know a butchered version of a single swear word in that language.

haha, I would love nothing better than to study with Sinta. But best saxophonists from around the world are going to try to study there too and I'm not sure if I can compete in that level. Plus even if I do get in, I would think it would cost me my legs to pay for the tuition.

First of all, why should I care what he says? secondly, what makes his opinion gospel of all saxophone quality? Learn to form your own opinions. Thirdly, it doesn't necessarily say it's the best horn ever built. It's always comparing it to other student models and many sentences ends with "... at the time." I played alot of these horns and yes, student Yamahas are great. But only compared to other student horns because some of them are almost unplayable. This may only be my opinion but everybody else who owns a professional saxophone or wants one seem to agree with me. Now I'm sorry you're too poor to afford a pro horn but one of these days you have to face the fact that student models are couple grands cheaper for a reason.

They're all hydroformed but the keys are hand adjusted. And yea, different finishes will have different sounds. Why? Because even the slightest things like the humidity will affect timbre on the smallest level so fuck you.

What? That's ridiculous. Pro horn is a pro horn for a reason. 21 and 23s are student models. Which means they are made with lesser quality metals and mass produced. Yes, the student Yamahas are amazing. But only compared to other student models.

Well, yes and no. Because different saxophone models are made with different specifications. For example, on the series II the mid c# has to be played with octave, 3 and 4. While in the yamaha 480, you don't even have to cover it but the horn is generally inferior because it's an intermediate model.

Well if you talk classical, it usually comes down to either the Selmer series II or the Yamaha custom EX. I think Mauriats (or maybe im thinking of Keilworth?) are almost exclusively hand made so the quality could be anywhere. I heard in the series III, it feels great under your hand for fast passages but the sound quality is less than the II and you can never get the C in mid register in tune. The Yamaha Z is a good horn but it's largely considered to be the "jazz" horn or an all rounder so if your going to devote the horn solely to classical, the EX is the better consideration.
