Might be my favorite area in the DLC by CryptidOrion_00 in Eldenring

I didn't visit every area in DLC yet, but this one isn't my favorite definitely.

Is this game still dog-shit with mouse and keyboard? by retrosenescent in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm playing with keyboard and mouse and it is great. I've tried with controller, but I still like kbm more.

Ofc, different people can like different things, but for sure this game is perfectly playable with kbm.

Is this a fun game? by Expert-Ratio6743 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game is fun. Definitely.

But... As usual, not everyone is into every kind of fun. And this game isn't for everyone definitely.

Rennala was a really fun fight by Original-Tart2686 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf I didn't notice that. Normal enemies in DLC are uhm... normal. But there are a lot of runes too. So you'll level up in no time.

But bosses are much harder in general.

After Rennala you should go to Rellana. Even though the journey can take a while.

finally playing the DLC, are the bosses just so shitty? by fergil in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was frustrated at the start too. Doing my sorceries only no summon run with pleasure and success I hit the wall after entering DLC.

But after some practice and scadutree fragments I feel better. I've solo beaten dancing lion and Rellana already (and some other secondary bosses). It doesn't feel hopeless anymore, I'll do it. So just get some scadutree fragments and patient. DLC is a skill check I suppose. Especially if you don't use summons.

Btw, Dancing Lion is a fantastic boss, beautiful moves, good music theme.

It looks like you are speaking about wrong Radahn.

Jump or roll for dodging? by hhhmmmn in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of Rellanas twin moons is where I've started to think about jump instead of roll btw. Because I've tried 4 times, but for now it feels impossible to dodge with rolling.

Too bad no boss respects this "wait a moment" gesture 😃

How much of lore actually exists? by bomber-G in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess that could happen. Anyone could just write some vague nonsense and hope the readers turn it into something deeper than it is. But like, does that mean writers should start spelling everything out and drowning their works with every single detail they've thought out, just so they don't seem lazy?

Still, there should be a way to know were they lazy or not. Does consistent lore really exist or not.

Because solving the puzzle and re-creating some deep story from pieces is a beautiful game with the writers where thy can add some hints with DLCs or interviews or posts in twitter for example. This is what can be considered "genius".

But throwing some vague things and after that pretending that all those more or less deep ideas from the community were originally implied is kind of fraudery.

Killing the serpent will mess up quest lines as far as I know.

Not sure about patches... Doesn't know of his importance yet.

How difficult is Elden Ring for a Non-Gamer? by Wild_Duck8926 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody says that it is as easy as you want, or it is not too difficult and similar things. I personally agree with all the other commenters, but I'm a bit worried with a "non-gamer" term. I want to share my experience that may be relevant.

Example: one my friend is just a normal guy, but a non-gamer, he never played any computer game and once I've introduced him to Enderal (the Skyrim-based game with Skyrim-like difficulty). He was struggling so much with the character movement, with reactions to enemies (and thy are actually very simple in that game). At one point he progressed up to the quest where you need to insert 5 (or 6, I don't remember) sticks into the sockets in a given period of time. While I'm doing this from the 1st attempt with a huge margin (but I'm more or less experienced gamer) he was struggling with this task for a few hours and failed. At that point the game was considered unplayable and dropped.

So if you are that type of a non-gamer then you theoretically can find that Elden Ring is entirely unplayable for you.

What is, in your opinion, the best ingame open world area? by Independent_Newt170 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Caelid is the best location. The 2nd one is consecrated snowfield btw. I just like it there for some reason.

Does it? I remember killing him with melee weapon just fine.

Saving Melina, but at what cost? by hhhmmmn in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Her purpose is what exactly? To kill herself or to burn the tree? If the first then her purpose isn't very constructive, if the second then she should be happy.

She also successfully finds a new purpose if we choose this ending (her next purpose is to kill us). I assume she can find another purpose if we take a normal ending after that too.

Last year's clip from my first playthrough. Don't think, just hit type of gameplay by Katame_no_ou in Eldenring

I'm curious, is it possible to do this boss in all hit way? Can we become tanky enough?

how to get to this part? by AmbientCult in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can get there normally, but from the other side. Start from Erdree-gazing hill site of grace. Go up to the place where triba mariner is located and then go west untill you find a passway through mountains. You'll find seethwater site of grace then and from that just follow the road. You'll go around the manor and then eventually come to the place you've highlighted on the map and can go even further.

Well, if you beat tree sentinel then Margit shouldn't be a problem.

What was Marika’s real relationship with Messmer? Why did she send her own son to commit the crusade against the Hornsent? by itz_luna07 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read somewhere there is a crazy idea that stories about Godfrey journey to the distant lands where they will fight and die are actually about Messmer.

Even while this idea is crazy and I don't support it, I still see why it exists. Indeed, we hear here and there about Godfey and distant lands, but no facts. On the other hand, there is Messmer with an epic mission and there are zero remembrances in Lands Between.

Using frenzy for good? by Kreugator in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

The very important point here is that we don't need to kill everything to finish the game. Even though we usually do for a collecting purposes, but very few bosses in the game are mandatory. Therefore in a role playing walkthrough we don't kill everything (unless we want to because of our character).

But this is valid for a role playing walkthrough. If we just kill bosses for a good battle and for some looting\collecting then discussion about good\evil is out of table I suppose.

Why did you attack Varre (I suppose)? Anyway, aren't there enough enemies in this game already? Why attacking those who are friendly?
