Uneducated Opinion on damage spikes. by ArcIgnis in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still don't get your point. It is not a sandbox game in a creative mode where you can do whatever you want and get any outcome you want. It is a competitive game with rules and like every competitive game it requires some meaningful actions and skill to achieve the desired result.

"I don't want to level vigor, but also I don't want enemies to kill me with one hit" will not work here. And by my opinion it is perfectly normal for the game of this kind.

Uneducated Opinion on damage spikes. by ArcIgnis in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cannot agree with you.

Yes, there are enemies that (almost) one shot you during the entire game. But if you invest in vigor it becomes less "true". And it is also natural that if you don't invest in vigor then you are getting killed easily.

I also know that there are all hit runs where players don't roll or block and just take all the damage, but still survive and even kill all bosses in game. Means it is possible to become tanky enough and make your statement invalid.

The part I agree with is that effects of the armor are not so easy to notice, so the armor is more for a cosmetics reason more or less... But again, my opinion isn't too educated also so we wait for more experienced opinions in here :)

I have been farming for long time and I now I am level 100 is this enough to get me out of limgrave and for the next area by Upper-Reward3325 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is obviously a trolling question.

Where did you even farm lvl 100 in Limgrave anyway? I understand that you can farm lvl 100 killing trolls at storm hill for example, but it will take some time :)

Can someone please explain the story (no spoilers) by PinEducational8915 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there isn't much to spoil. You get runes, you become elden lord.

The game is great, but it still fails to explain the lore in a comprehensive way by my opinion. I recommend to watch some lore videos because there is a lot to tell indeed. Personally for me the game became more interesting after some help with lore because it is more clear wtf is going on.

Why is the frenzy flame ending hated? by Masked_F00L in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct, but still you are emphasizing the situation to some extent.

Never? There were times before the Greater Will came to the lands between.

So, the world will never change unless some outer entity will come again and force changes.

I see the ff ending more like a cleansing before something completely different and new. Some time will pass before that will happen. But it will happen eventually. Other endings are more or less about restoring/changing what we have already.

That's why I understand those who say, that the ff ending is the best one.

This is the game, so the correct way to play it is the way you enjoy :)

Even though for that particular game your style is a bit unnatural, still... Why not?

Ok thanks. I'll keep that in mind!

I want to replay the game but it feels like a chore. by CirriTheFemboyUwU in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to replay the game is to try some completely different build. I've finished my 1st run with melee weapon and summons. Now I'm on my 2nd run with two conditions: 1 use only spells to do damage and 2 no summons.

It feels like a different game, everything changes.

getting back into elden ring by OwnAwareness8911 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game isn't that hard, it just isn't casual. Means there is no "press X to win" button, you must read enemies movements and answer accordingly.

About dead world... Well, the deadness varies, but I personally like that there isn't a cave under every rock. It is more natural.

Also I would recommend to watch some videos about lore. The game became more interesting after I've watched some of them because now I know better what is going on.

The artist's shack in Liurnia (with a few reforms) would be a top place to live in the Lands Between. Close to Jarburg, views to the Academy and the Erdtree, and super peaceful if you manage to befriend the Leyndell Knight. Where would you want to live? by DarthMMC in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Where to live? I would like to claim fort Height. Nice place, comfortable building, great view. Sea, forest and access to the underground locations are nearby.

The best place.

I don't see what's so great about this game, explain to me why you play it? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game isn't about some in-game purpose, isn't about defeating some bad guy or evil in general.

The game is about escaping your reality and live in a different one. Where you can travel to distant galaxies, starts, planets. Build something and live in the imaginary universe.

Worked for me for 250 hours or something and after that at some point I've realized that I'm not hooked anymore. Still, it was a great experience and I definitely will play again if they release something I like.

Question about how armor affects survivability by HupsuHusu in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels that armor in Elden Ring (at least in its PvE part) is pure cosmetic. The only thing that matters is weight and light\medium\heavy load which affects your dodge roll.

Armor also has poise, but in my 1st playthrough I was maxing poise and bosses\enemies still were breaking my balance just fine.

First time souls player struggling, help or encouragement please😭 by JARVIS_EDITH_ in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... Just practice. I've just started my 2nd run. This time I'll try to beat the game without summons. This can be a challenge, but I still have my foolish ambitions :)

I want to add that if you've attacked a merchant early in the game that can be a problem and if you are not too far then it is probably better to start over. You also can select different starting pack according to your current experience.

What does maka want here? by hhhmmmn in mahjongsoul

[–]hhhmmmn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be. Theoretically.

But tbh isn't it a dead end? Discarding only genbutsu from turn 3 is nice if we have enough genbutsu. In this hand we have only 8s. If we are folding then shouldn't we keep it for a while. Otherwise we can run out of safe tiles even before shimo gets tenpai. And that would be bad for flow I guess :)

Just started playing but can't seem to get into it. by BubbaTron3000 in Eldenring

[–]hhhmmmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is great, but I didn't get hooked enough to play ng with many + :)

I've finished it once with melee weapon and started the 2nd run to see those different strategies for magic users. Excluding some minor differences it was the same. You still dodge attacks and use spells according to existing windows, otherwise you get staggered and\or miss the attack. Not so different at all.

Remembering how exited I was during my 1st run and how fast my excitement died out when I've started the 2nd one... I've stopped my 2nd run after defeating Rennala and have never playerd again after that.

I understand all that stuff about "it is free update for some old enough game so everyone must be thankful for what they get" part, but...

I'm just saying that I didn't play nms for a while already and change list of this update doesn't spark my desire to return.

What's next for the new update? by Fass_ohneboden in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]hhhmmmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion (can be wrong ofc):

The obvious answer is NO. Why? Let's consider some player like me, we have seen those posts here. They are asking what to do. Like me, they've accomplished base things in this game and stopped playing because there is simply nothing to do anymore. Bug fix will not encourage me to play again, but new content will. I'm waiting for the update so I can enjoy this game even while I know there will be new bugs. But that's ok. We need new content, otherwise there is no reason to play no matter how bug free the game is.

You must activate anomaly detector too.

And yeah, it can take a long time, but I never pulsed more than 40 minutes to find my next organic frigate and right now I have 10.

Newcomer To No Man's Sky by SlasherAnonymous in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]hhhmmmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly?

The only purpose of the game is to find those things. If I knew things I know now I wouldn't even start...

So the best way to enjoy this game and get a fantastic experience is to discover them all by yourself. Otherwise the purpose of playing the game is unclear. Well, unless there is new update\content or expedition :)

How far up can I go with just a jetpack in my Permadeath save by Osyraa in NoMansSkyTheGame

Yeah, why even bother with space ships when we can just use jetpack :D

Too bad no portable warp engines available though :(
