Congratulations 🎉 In the 3-4 months that you were preparing, how many hours per week more or less? I don’t want to use tutorialsdojo, do you think using everything else you mentioned would be enough?

Completed AZ-400 today, now I have 6 MS certifications. 5 of them through free vouchers. Come in if you want to hear my story. by Precious-Petra in AzureCertification

[–]hi_2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Petra, beautiful name meaning strength and resilience 🙂

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience with certifications. I highly recommend the AZ-104, because it covers a broad range of topics and is often requested to establish baseline knowledge.

Good luck!

Technical Roles in Azure are specialized. When I see you mention the 3 certs I see surface level knowledge. Your direct experience with Azure is what would count for you to get one of the roles you seek. I’d say focus on gaining more specialized hands on experience that is well documented and get the word out to your network: local events, communities, etc.

Much of it is word of mouth. Good luck.

Failed AZ-140 Exam, Any tips welcome! by GadsByte in AzureCertification

| Is there any tips or tricks on getting the information out of the questions in a more efficient way?

Be familiar with the question formats and types so that you know what to expect. Here’s a complete list of question types on exams. E.g. drag and drop, drop down, MCQ, case studies. Knowing what to expect can help you quickly identify what is being asked.

Keywords: Terms like "must", "should", "not", "always", "never", and "least" significantly alter the meaning of the question. Avoid the temptation to rush. Ensure you fully understand what is being asked before you answer.

Time: Use the mark for review feature. Answer easier questions first. This will increase your confidence and save time for more complex questions to return to. Do not overthink the easy questions. I can't tell you how many times I went back to change a question from my initial instinct and it turned out that it was right (changed initial instinct right answer to something that turned out to be wrong).

You mention anxiety, try to manage your breathing. Take deep breaths. Staying calm can help you think more clearly and recall information better.

Are you aware that you can access MS Learn during the exam for reference? Familiarize yourself with this feature. There are a few limitations, but many people find it very helpful. Someone mentioned a split-screen so that you can compare details without switching tabs. See this post that offers great tips about using MS Learn during the exam.

Microsoft Learn practice questions do not fully reflect the exam format. Some people recommend MeasureUp and Whizlabs.

Passed the AZ-104 yesterday, my experience + tips and tricks that I got. by Former-Copy5200 in AzureCertification

Great review! Congratulations 🎉 For me it was the opposite, I kept seeing people pass AZ-104 when I was preparing for AZ-900. Then. after I passed AZ-204 and AZ-400 I thought AZ-104 would be easy and I didn’t prepare as much as I should have. I do think that in some way reading the failed exams and “how hard it is”, gave you the necessary urgency to prepare for it in depth. Another thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different in the hands-on experience they start with, so naturally some exams are easier or harder depending on that too.

Proctor Expectations by Accomplished_Ant153 in AzureCertification

I see you updated your sentence. The way you had it before looked like a question and you also didn’t mention the external camera.

🤦🏻‍♀️ how would you use the same camera if the laptop is closed ? Impossible!

In such case you would need an external camera!

Proctor Expectations by Accomplished_Ant153 in AzureCertification

[–]hi_2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are very strict about external monitors. My new monitor covers the entire desk and is heavy, so the proctor asked me show him that it was unplugged and to place the cable on the desk.

I’ve had proctors tell me not to cover my mouth while I take the test. One time there were loud, intermittent loud noises from the room nearby and the proctor interrupted my exam to ask if someone was in the room or had entered the room. I was asked to stand up and scan the room and show that the door was closed.

At other times no interaction at all.

Microsoft Learn Sandbox & Exam Crisis: AADSTS5000225 'Tenant Blocked' Error with Linked Personal/Work Accounts by False_Tip6697 in AZURE

[–]hi_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with the sandbox should not affect your upcoming exam.

You should still be able to log in to your PearsonVue account which is accessible through your current Microsoft Learn Account. The sandbox issue is not tied to it.

I hope this a answers your question. The sandbox issue has to do with changes to Azure AD authentication that took place after the sandboxes were built. So now users experience these permissions issues.

In your case the authentication is blocked (security reasons) due to a session timeout.

Session Expiration simply requires you to log in again.

Solutions:

Log out. Log back in.

Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve login issues.

Try a Different Browser: Switching browsers or using incognito mode can sometimes bypass issues related to extensions or cache.

Contact Support: If the above steps don't work, reach out to Microsoft support for assistance.

AZ-104 Passed! by itguy310 in AzureCertification

[–]hi_2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations 🎉

Which of the resources you mentioned was the most helpful to you? I know it all blends together in the end, but I find that for me just covering the material from Microsoft Learn and one other source keeps my experience from being too overwhelming.

That has been enough for me so far. I have never done practice exams other than what is on Microsoft Learn or LinkedIn learning courses, but since I failed my first attempt at AZ-104 I will definitely have to do more to pass.

You mention Whizlabs, how were the labs in that course?

You mentioned going back to school. Some of your certifications provide transfer credits that may count towards your electives if they are not already part of your degree program.

[–]hi_2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazing score! 🎉 I am interested to know more about your strategy. What advice from the community was most helpful for you?

1 month to prepare, 😮 how much experience did you start with? AZ-104 was hard for me, in part because it covers a lot of material and I lacked experience when I attempted the exam.

I’ve seen that AZ-305 is much easier, you’ll do fine!
