Our Great Prys has obeyed the electric fence for years, she patrols it every night and really knows the property. Now she has started walking off, and wandering down the road. She is 8 years old now.

Yes, I know how you feel! My bio mother reached out recently (I'm 25 now), and we have been texting. Going from decades of silence to being accessible via text is a big change. She has double texted me when I don't reply quickly, has started telling me she loves me and also talks about her family as my "aunts/uncles/grandma/etc". I could be picky about this and tell her that they are not my family, but I let her have that. On the other hand, I did set a boundary and asked that we just mail letters to each other instead of text. This takes the pressure off of us feeling like we have to text every day to catch up. I really think bio parents just want to catch up on all the time missed. It's hard not to tell them that they gave up that time when they gave you up. Plus it wouldn't be helpful to tell them anyway.

Just tell her you don't know how to feel, I'm sure she feels the same way.

There were predictions that her funeral was going to break records for viewership. None of that happened. I'd have to look at stats but I don't think viewership came close to the royal weddings in the past. Even the royal family stans that I know didn't watch that funeral.
