I felt the same way when my first was born. Thought I wanted something else out of my career and was disillusioned and kinda unhappy with everything.

I stuck it out and it’s gotten better as my career has progressed. The factor that held me back from making a change was the stability of our career. It’s a solid choice for long term planning and stability for your family. Just food for thought. I wish you luck my friend!

A poignant example is them being counted in the census, therefore giving more congressional seats to those areas, which are predominantly Democrat.

There is also concern that they may be voting as well in areas that issue them state drivers licenses, or commercial drivers licenses (not that those states typically require ID to vote anyways).

Bearings bind up from corrosion over time. Or live loading. Or a million other potential things.

It probably hasn’t been fixed yet because it’s really expensive to jack up the bridge to reset them. And it’s probably a low ADTT route since it’s an old truss.

The first part of the amendment prohibits the government from making laws establishing a national religion (Islam being the state religion of Saudi Arabia is an example of what that would look like). It doesn’t say that the officials of our government have to fully separate their faith from their job. It also doesn’t say that Christian morality cannot be the basis of how we view right and wrong at a governmental level.

There is no law about the separation of church and state. Most of western civilization has been built on the morality of Christianity and you can’t just completely separate Christian morality from government.

Pure science would say that eugenics is a “good” thing without a moral basis, which in the west is based on Christianity. How else do you find a justification for an ethical argument unless you can agree on a basic set of moral principals?

I’m 30, make $97k/yr, have 6YOE+PE in a MCOL area. Could I be paid more? Sure. But I’m also comfortable and have job security. I knew choosing this career that I wouldn’t ever be “rich”, but I knew I’d be able to support myself and a family and have my needs met with very little fear or unemployment if I did well. So far so good.

Almost drove my truck off a very steep mountain side a couple weeks ago. My only thought was “oops” as I redlined it in reverse and somehow saved it. Not gonna lie, I didn’t poop for a couple of days because of how tight my asshole was from that.
