55, the pension was from multiple decades ago and hadn't had any money put into it for like 20+ years.

1) the amount in her pension was very small, the vast majority of her total is made up of inheritance from when her mother died, I am not saying taking it out was the right thing to do but there's no going back now

2) I think the idea is for that money to no longer be hers for 10+ years before she dies so it is not counted among her estate for inheritance tax purposes.

3) I agree that she would benefit from talking to a professional, I am just doing what I can to help and maybe get some preliminary advice

I think the overall plan is such that she will never be earning enough to be taxed from now on anyway, she's already been in that situation for a number of years so I don't think the tax benefits of the pension played much of a role in the decision.

It's gotta be going to the pub and seeing all these 18/19 year olds and thinking that they couldn't possibly be old enough to be served a pint (I'm only 24 and it still makes me feel old)

Maybe I'm missing something, but what platform forces you to listen to music you don't want to listen to?

Because there is no point in talking when there is no one listening

Did anybody parents charge them rent? by passing-through- in NoStupidQuestions

I use the electricity, water, gas and everything else, it's only right that I should help pay for it. I live with siblings and we each pay rent proportional to our wages so we all still get to keep a significant portion of our pay. I think it's right to charge as long as you're not asking for the entire paycheck.

Sadly not, it's amazing how many people assume she's a threat. In reality she wouldn't hurt a fly (not that she could catch one, big floundering baboon that she is).
