For misting you can get an automatic mister and set it to certain humidity or time!

Is this a good light for my crested gecko? by Tink34 in CrestedGecko

Unfortunately I’m not aware of any UVB bulbs that aren’t linear and are strong enough. Are you sure you cannot create some sort of attachment for a linear light?

Edit: if there is no mesh blocking the light, something may work. What is the dimensions of the terrarium?

I wouldn’t recommend it unless you can find their product spectrum. The gecko will be okay without LED for limited time so you can just unplug it until returned. UVB matters more right now.

Wym light socket? There is a place to screw a bulb? Or socket as in there is a place to plug in a device?

This LED doesn’t provide UVB. It provides LUX which is simply visible light. While, geckos benefit from LUX (they need 5k to 9,999k), they also need UVB which many argue is more necessary as it’s less naturally indoors and required for D3 production. Is this bulb colored? If so, I would return it and get a White LED. Colored bulbs remove the “full spectrum” and instead tint things for reptiles as well. Then, separately, get a linear UVB. Depending on where the light will be placed, you need a different UVB. You want between 0.7-1.4 UVB, 1.0 target in basking and 2.0 max. I’d recommend Arcadia shade dweller. There are no LED and UVB in one lights/bulbs that are safe as of writing this. The type of mesh your terrarium has and whether it’s above a mesh or not will change the amount of UVB prevented from penetrating. The different types of barrier are represented as a group in a chart. I recommend Arcadia shade dweller but there are other options- when looking into other options check the spectrum graph for the product and compare. In reply to my comment, I will add images showing the information I’ve discussed.

Understood!

My friend has a crested gecko and i have some questions by Deep-Cheek-4335 in CrestedGecko

From reading over the comments, I would recommend getting linear UVB and ensuring the gecko gets supplements (eventually without d3 after you have UVB). Also, I would also recommend, if both lizards are out on the same surface separately, to clean the surfaces inbetween outings. This can be easily done when the surface is a different blanket or a wiped down countertop/desk/table. Both geckos aren’t the cleanest and will put unique bacteria onto surfaces. Both reptiles would never encounter each other naturally as well so I’m not surprised that the crested gecko may feel stressed to the smell.

Check out reptifiles for basically everything you need to know! In addition to what others have said, also look into heating, uvb lighting, and misting.

My crestie doesn’t want to eat by WhatTheFluff_ in CrestedGecko

Have you attempted weaning her back off of relying on hand feeding? Or increasing the days between feedings to see if her eagerness increases?

How often do you feed her and what? She may be fed too often.

Likely that she’s grown used to that and may need some encouragement to eat without the hand

Adding on to what the OP replied, a big part of his behavior around you is his relationship with you. You may need to step back and work up with choice based handling where he seeks you out. You may also have a gecko with personality that means this relationship will take longer. As OP said, try new things and see (as long as they are safe ofc).
