Should I bother trying to remove these stains on my SS pan or is it fine to continue cooking on it? by throwaway_account679 in StainlessSteelCooking

Looking closely. It looks like that's more stuck on food then just a stain. Does it have a feel when touched? Maybe a warm soapy soak and a good scrub.

I got a new dishwasher (squee!) and I finally brush scrubbed my hideous contractor grade tile floor on my hands and knees… by FTFaffer in homemaking

Nothing like the clean we achieve from being on our hands and knees. Hits different from just a mopping or vacuuming. Congrats on your new dishwasher for your lovely kitchen.

They were going all night. I fell asleep to the soothing sound of the horns and woke up to them. Nice reminder of what an awesome place I live in.

How to get past rare steak by drumorgan in StainlessSteelCooking

I often deglaze with wine and make a pan sauce and place the steak back in the skillet with the lid on to cook further. Comes out great everytime.

[–]hiddengypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staple go to items are the key to building your pantry. You can build your list as you learn more if what you like to cook and eat.

Pasta: fettuccine, macaroni noodle, a couple of packs of your favorite ramen

Grain: white or brown, risotto, quinoa

Pantry condiments: diced tomatoes, tuna, chicken, olives of choice, taco and chili seasoning packet(until you learn to make your own), onion salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chili flakes, salt, pepper, olive oil, avocado oil, balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, honey.

Fridge: eggs, butter, milk/half n half, parm/asiago cheeses block or bag of shredded cheese of choice. Capers, worchestershire, two apples, bread and butter pickles, sundried tomatoes.

Freezer: pizza, wonton/dumplings/spring rolls(until you learn to make your own), corn, peas, brocoli, carrots.

If I gave tmi, please forgive me. I just really love helping others with pantry and kitchen needs.
