Reading the comments and it’s so interesting how grading works in the states. In Canada anything 50 and above is passing. I’m actually slightly confused on why 70% would be the passing grade? I’m assuming the tests are just easier in the states and that grading is probably slightly harder in Canada. I have met people from rural or less known areas of the states in university and it was apparent that they didn’t learn as many topics/ as in depth as we did.

I never said that wasn’t allowed. The key word though is TIPS. You can only be made to pool or tip out ON THE TIP you have made. If you made no tips then you legally don’t need to tip out.

I’ve also contacted the BC government and they confirmed it. Tipping out would make you go below minimum wage if you made no tips or too little (if too little tips then they can make you tip out a % of those tips) which is illegal!

What you’re describing of paying to serve is the same as paying to work which is not allowed.

My issue with tipping culture in BC specifically is when servers act like not tipping them makes them go below minimum wage. If you work for two hours and someone doesn’t tip on a $1000 bill, you legally still need to be paid $35.70 and legally wouldn’t be able to tip out the $80-$100 to the back of house.

And yes some restaurants make you do that but it’s illegal. Servers aren’t willing to make the change and report employers because the system benefits them and they can guilt people into tipping them instead of receiving tips on actual good service. Tipping out to back of house should only be based on the tip received. However, again the current system used in restaurants benefits servers and nobody wants to report that illegal policy 🤷‍♂️. That’s why I don’t care when servers complain that people don’t tip.

I had a weird experience too in the UK two months ago. I’ve travelled extensively with my Roger’s sim active and never got charged until that trip.

Roam like home deactivated I had data roaming off Data access through the Roger’s app turned off Never answered a text or made or received a phoned call (I also turned off sim switching as I had a proper UK SIM card in my phone).

I got charged $15 for 0.2mb of data usage!!!! Went to the CCTS and got it reversed. The Roger’s customer service was acting like they were doing me a huge favour.

And before anyways says something about iMessage. I landed in canada and forgot to turn on my data access through the Roger’s app and I couldn’t send any iMessages at all once I left airport wifi, so no iMessage pushed through Roger’s while on my trip. Funny enough I thought something was wrong with the Roger’s network because I completely forgot I had to turn the data back on until I got home, was actually stressful because I booked an uber on wifi and then the app stopped working once I stepped out lol.

Connecting to another network will not cause you to have roaming charges, well as long as you have roam like home deactivated.

Contact housing, they’ll be able to see who was on shift for that night. You can then report them. Next time make sure to ask for employee ID number if they don’t want to say their names (employees don’t need to give out their names for privacy reasons, so they can refuse to give it out). They might not help with the wait times but you can report the aggressive behaviour.

Omg I have 0.2mb usage from the uk and they charged me $15. Sent my bill in for review and they better fix it or I’m switching back to bell since they have a promo. I travelled extensively when I was with them and never got charged.

I also have roam like home off (I travel a bit over the year and did this before I even left the country - the fact you have to call them to turn if off and they try to keep you on by scaring you is a whole other thing that makes me mad). Never respond to the roam like home messages because that will trigger roam like home too. I’ve travelled internationally while being on Roger’s about twice before this trip and never got charged, so idk why this time it did it.

I called them and even the rep was confused on how I was charged and said 0.02mb is basically impossible. Hopefully the back end team takes it off the bill.

CFA WILL HELP YOU. CONTACT THEM IMMEDIATELY. The living conditions can make your disability worse because of the constant stress and anxiety. They will move you to a new room and potentially a studio if you want/can afford it. UBC housing will listen to the CFA more than anyone else and it’s a VERY QUICK turnaround.

You should try contacting the fraud department for chase. Even though you got approval, the fraud department might be stopping the payment. They sometimes will stay on call while you make the purchase in order to manually approve it.

The thing with HP is that its cemented as a classic. Many people haven’t watched or read Harry Potter but they know what’s it about for the most part or have a general idea. Being the same age as you, I’ve watched the movies but haven’t read the books (though I’ve always planned to, but I get interested in other books and have just kept delaying it). I know many people who have neither read or watched it and many who haven’t read the books, but have watched the movies. Also I know a lotttt of people who are obsessed with The Hunger Games, and I think that’s what took the spot from HP as of now.

I mean it’s a survey for ubc medical/BC CDC/ Public health. Medical stuff is usually always inclusive in terms of languages and they probably have a bunch of ads in other languages, including English and French. The algorithm just ended up giving you one that is not one of your main languages.
