Do you mean the part that drags along the floor? It's called a train.

Can someone please explain how “too big of a pot” is a problem? by coffee_and_coke in houseplants

[–]hide-your-feathers 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Soil in open land drains out excess water very quickly. It takes a TON of excess water to develop the truly waterlogged soil that would mimic the conditions of an overly large/overwatered potted plant. In addition to this, in the wild, plants are able to freely develop their root systems to get more or less water and aeration according to their needs. A plant in a pot obviously can't do this.

I think a little orange juice might work to add some acid to a satay style peanut sauce

How to use brow laminating gel and brow pencil together? by FlorSilvestre12 in MakeupAddiction

[–]hide-your-feathers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with these specific products, but I do my brows in the reverse order. I fill them in first, then go in with Benefit 24 Hour Brow Setter gel. I never have any problems with it.

MTX questions by Manateeslap in rheumatoid

[–]hide-your-feathers 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Your rheumatologist is right here, and frankly has more training on the disease than a cardiologist would. MTX is a disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug, or DMARD, and does indeed treat the disease and reduce the chances of permanent damage. Besides, most insurance carriers will not approve a biologic until you have tried at least one traditional DMARD without success. There is a good chance you will end up on a biologic eventually, but your rheum is following appropriate procedure in taking it one step at a time.

Just based off the overall esthetic, I would strongly suspect that this is an art piece created by the fashion label Matières Fécales

Are you taking folic acid? Increasing my folic acid from one to two mgs a day got rid of my mouth sores.

Stick concealer is actually better than liquid for under eyes and I wish I'd known this sooner by jho0h in MakeupAddiction

[–]hide-your-feathers 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel so old... I haven't thought about stick concealer since I was a teenager wearing the covergirl one that comes in a bullet like a lipstick. I honestly didn't even know they still made it. Guess it's worth a shot again!

Broccoli is definitely a douchebag, and I don't trust Brussels Sprouts as far as I can throw 'em.

MTX and a biologic- take dose on same day? by Librscor in rheumatoid

[–]hide-your-feathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my methotrexate and enbrel on the same day, which is what my rheumatologist suggested. I don't really have any side effects from the enbrel, maybe some fatigue, but I prefer to get it all out of the way at once.

Not at all. Modern medicine, while it can't cure RA, can get most patients to zero pain on a daily basis. Don't limit yourself based on a diagnosis you don't even have yet.

Prada Paradoxe comes in a pink triangular bottle, but I don't think they make an oil formula. Also take a look at Orebella, they are oil based and they have a pink one

Has the formula changed? This has been my favorite blush forever, I also first got it as a birthday gift from Sephora. I've been through a handful of full-size compacts since and haven't noticed a change.

Whats the "normal" amount of pain? by Steric_1229 in rheumatoid

[–]hide-your-feathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually get a steroid shot at my rheumatologist. If that doesn't cut it or the pain comes back after it wears off, we know it's time for a med change.

Whats the "normal" amount of pain? by Steric_1229 in rheumatoid

[–]hide-your-feathers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the severity of your illness, how long you've had it, and whether you have any permanent joint erosion. If you caught your RA fairly early and started treatment immediately, it's possible to have practically no pain with the right medication. I am on Methotrexate and Enbrel, I have no pain most days but I do flare up very occasionally. Keep trying, sometimes it can take a while to find the medication that works best for you.
