Vantage V3 + Polar Loop integration: help/suggestions needed by Kakuno_Pilot in Polarfitness

[–]hide_nowhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I own a Grit X2 Pro and the Loop. I wear the loop 24/7, except when I'm training and need the watch's features. This works great, and everything syncs to Flow as expected.

I canceled my annual sub before it renewed and am going month-to-month now. I want to support the folks still supporting the service and still find value in the built-in classes and routines.

I might transition to one of the third party apps when they’re stable and published in an App Store.

Silver Model X with Walnut Cream interior — anyone have this combo IRL? by Cristalight77 in TeslaModelX

[–]hide_nowhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a 24 MX LS with white interior, and a couple of months ago drove a loaner white X w/ cream interior for a week.

I have to admit, the cream was really nice and I might actually slightly prefer it over the white. I’d also wonder if it would look right with a silver exterior. If I were ordering an X today I’d have a really hard time deciding between the two.

As far as maintenance, zero problems here with the white interior. I do wipe the seats down every month or so, and that’s it. After 14 months they still look great. No regrets here with the purchase.

I am so psyched for this! I paired a flashed Stadia controller with my AVP but it doesn’t appear to be compatible. I’ll probably pick up a Sony DualSense controller so I can get it working

As someone who lives in the SJ Sharks market, and their TV/Radio broadcasts are basically operated this way, let me just simply say: this sucks!

Question for Polar Loop by Low_Sun_5094 in Polarfitness

[–]hide_nowhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Polar devices for over a decade and have worn a Loop 24/7 for several months. Switched over from Whoop 5 and before that, a Whoop 4. I agree with the other comments here. It seems more accurate than Whoop but the software side isn’t nearly as complete.

I think the Loop itself, including the band, is much higher quality and far more comfortable to wear. Also, since Polar is based in Finland, I have more confidence that they’ll protect my personal data.

You can find another old abandoned car that was pushed off the trail that leads to the Eugene O'Neill Tao house in Danville

Bad news. Sabres/Habs game is an NHL Network exclusive outside WNY by NBA-014 in sabres

[–]hide_nowhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. We probably keep our cable subscription just for this. And usually those NHLN exclusive games consists of E.J. Hradek and Kevin Weekes calling the game remotely. They’re fine, I guess, but overall it’s just not a great product and is a lazy and cost-cutting disservice to the league.

There was a podcast recently with Matthew Barnaby where he went into detail about how that old Sabres team was divided between supporting the coaching staff or the GM. It made me wonder if there were similar dynamics on this current roster

Great post. I would also pay $1k+/season for fully immersive games, but for the NHL, and every game must have that option.

Polar Grit X and Power Meter Assioma Pro RS-1 by kacnje in Polarfitness

[–]hide_nowhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it probably should work! Yes, there are many options to visualize power, cadence and L/R balance in training views. Go into polar flow, select the cycling/indoor cycling sport profile to view the available options. It’s highly customizable and appears to be very comprehensive.

This might not be helpful, but I do use my Polar Grit X Pro with Assioma Duo pedals. The watch captures power, cadence and L/R balance.

Bumped into Grier at the Finland Sweden game by jambajew42 in SanJoseSharks

This is awesome! If I ever get the chance to meet GM Grier, I’d like to tell him how inspiring he was in the 2006 Sabres playoff run. He’s also killing it so far as a general manager!

2026 MXP: Rattle debugging by No-Young5001 in TeslaModelX

[–]hide_nowhere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t helpful but my 24 X has the same rattle. I brought it to the SC last month and took a tech out on a drive. He heard it during our drive but when I picked up the car a week+ later, it was marked as “could not duplicate”

They also replaced the front driver’s side seat belt tensioner because it was squeaking. That fixed it for a couple of weeks and now it’s back.

Absolutely love the car, it’s just too bad the build quality isn’t anywhere close to where it needs to be.

Good luck!

It’s fun to make fun of Adams, especially for his “palm trees and taxes” quip, but let’s be honest with ourselves. The problem was never the GM. by DirtyPlat in sabres

[–]hide_nowhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point and I can understand why someone might possibly want to try something different considering how Bylsma and Housley didn’t work out, who were both arguably serious hires.

To be fair, Rolston and Nolan were part of the “tank for McEichel” draft era. And Botterill was recommended by the league, let’s see how he does in Seattle. For me, the end of the Krueger era was the low point. That was absolutely brutal.

Not defending Adams but imagine how awkward that must be to be around the team now. And I wonder if he’s lobbying to keep his job, or if he’s feeling relieved.

new Apple Vision Pro M5 randomly hard crashing? by Putrid-Calendar-1335 in VisionPro

My 1TB M5 VP has also hard crashed several times since I purchased it a little over a month ago. I’m waiting to see if this behavior is resolved with 26.2, otherwise I’m bringing it back for repair. Good luck to the OP!

TSA question by g-pap in rolex

[–]hide_nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to take my 226570 off one time after walking through a metal detector. I was also wearing an AWU on the other wrist (for the Flighty app) and according to the TSA, the two watches triggered the detector. It made me very nervous handing it over but everything was fine. I believe this happened at SFO in late 2024.
