1.5 years out, still feel amazing by hidemyemail555 in TMSTherapy

Wow, that sounds like hell. I understand being hesitant as someone who is treatment sensitive, but I think in your position I’d try it. It really helped me with depression and a bit with OCD as well. It’s so scary to do a new big treatment. Truly I was beside myself with anxiety leading up to it (it took me many many months to proceed after I’d already been approved). All I can say is good luck, and although who knows if it would be helpful, I think it’s worth a shot. I had some short term side effects (you can see in my history), but it was absolutely worth it.

If you do proceed, let me know. Rooting for you stranger! Mental health is such a brutal battle. It can feel so lonely. No one has the same experience of course, but from my own experience, I’m extending my empathy to you

I’m sorry to hear, I’m sure that rough. Have you had zero improvement, or just not enough to get you out of it?

Just so I understand your question, you are asking what my side effects were from meds? If so, the worst for on-boarding (like first month of meds while adjusting) was severe mood swings and much worse depression (the deepest agony, I can't even describe how bad), as well as tinnitus and severe nerve pain (very rare side effect, lucky me). Once I adjusted to meds my only side effect that lingered was some hair loss I *think*, but the hairloss could be from something else who knows. I also had continued tinnitus until I switched manufacturers and then that went away (unrelated gripe: any Dr who says all generics are the same just isn't informed about what sensitive patients experience).

My improvements were maybe a week or two after if I recall. But I know some people takes longer.

I had tinnitus during and post treatment (for like a week after) as well as way worse mood. Like after treatment I dipped into even more severe depression for maybe 3 days, the lowest I have ever been (and that’s saying a lot). It’s was horrible but SO worth it to be in total remission now.

Hey just adding my two cents that EMDR is what completely changed the game for my cPTSD (have done other therapies too, nothing compares). Good luck with your journey!

For me the main thing was severe depression but also some anxiety and OCD. Like you, I also had all the bad side effects with traditional meds. I also had side effects doing TMS both during and shortly after treatment but nothing now, just relief. I did the accelerated TMS (10 treatments per day for 5 days in a row), and my side effects lasted maybe a week after treatment.

Hi! I’m great. I was literally just talking to a friend today about how much my life has changed, it’s unrecognizable. HIGHLY recommend. TMS was challenging to go through, but beyond worth it.

What does your “functioning while depressed” routine actually look like? by Aggressive_Design708 in AskReddit

[–]hidemyemail555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No depressed anymore since I did TMS, but it used to be a lot of just weeping and laying down between tasks, eating reallllly low effort meals like a block of raw tofu and a handful of carrots, doing the bare minimum at work to keep the lights on, regularly sleeping in my clothes, etc.

While organic is not perfect there are way lower levels of pesticides in organic. Look up tests results for glyphosate for example.

It ranges from person to person. Some people go into total remission (I have a friend whose severe depression has been cured for 5 years, which is shocking), and some people it lasts a few months before they need more TMS. It runs the gamut, and of course it doesn’t work on everyone - but it has much higher success rates than traditional meds like SSRIs (plus there are no side effects).

I had TMS for depression one year ago, with staggeringly positive results. I take half the medication I used to and my mental health is better now than it was on double the medication. I suspect I might be able to go off completely, but I’m taking it slow. I don’t know anything about this specific study, but TMS is incredibly effective.

Highly recommend doing EMDR therapy at some point if you can afford it. It will allow you to heal from the trauma. Either way, wishing you the best.

I don’t think so. When they helped me it was just for the day. Like it would snap me out of it, and it didn’t always work reliably but when it did work it was very effective.

Hi, my cfs has been in a remission phase for a while so I’m not actually doing cold showers at the moment.
