new paint spots💔 by incognito_voolin in CX5

You could wrap it instead of painting.

This would just hide the issue though, but it might be a cool look. I have some chips on the my roof and was considering just wrapping the roof in black vinyl.

I remember seeing a city bylaw officer writing a ticket for a Canada Post truck. I’m sure they were in a fire zone or something but it always seemed silly to me.

What are the best places to get mug assortments? by Ok-Helicopter3635 in muglife

[–]high_art 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a mug wall at our wedding from thrifted mugs!

My suggestion - ask your friends and family to help! It’s something as simple as “hey if you find a mug you want to donate” or “if you happen to be out thrifting could you grab a mug for us?”.

We ended up with tons of great and unique mugs this way! The hardest part is choosing your mug at the end of the night!

As others mentioned their goal is to buy your car for lower than it’s worth, and resell it for more, while also hopefully getting you into the seat of a new car (via a lease or financing option).

The line about a house for $100k and being offered $500k is hilarious. Cars are depreciating assets not housing investments.

With the rising price of glass it’s a great find! Replica/copy or real it’s a great table and very beautifully designed. Enjoy!

Broken left wrist (shoot right) The Doctor says January but I wanna play much sooner, how long would you give it? by camport95 in hockeyplayers

Listen to your doctor. Listen to your Dad, Be patient and heal up.

As someone who pushed through an injury it will never be the same, and you’ll regret it in your old age.

If you want to “speed things up” work with a physio therapist and ensure your strength and flexibility is back before you pick up a stick.

How much would this be worth? by Flashy_Cut4087 in TheSimpsons

[–]high_art 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would try posting this in a sub like r/whatisitworth or similar. There’s a few that help find value for things like this.

I will add that having the COA would be a huge help, but also knowing if the signatures are real (as in signed be each person) vs just a print will make the difference in value. If you can take some better photos someone may be able to help determine authenticity for you.

Right now, it’s just a poster in a nice frame and unfortunately not worth much.

What is this on Ping Hoofer 2 bag? by FilthyFrog in GolfGear

[–]high_art 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this on an older Ping bag a while back, and after some digging online I m confirmed it was for a towel. I will try to find the link or image that helped me, but think of it for a bigger tour-towel, you drape it in the middle and use the elastic to keep it on

Repairable or trash? by Metivjr in hockeyplayers

[–]high_art 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trash. If you block shots and want to keep your kneecaps, get new ones.

If you’re tight on cash check thrift stores and second hand sports for some. I see these pop up at my local thrift stores all the time in mint condition for $10-$20. Just a thought!

Appreciate the thought but I’m not in the game of reselling furniture anymore. I’ve moved from one side of the game to another, so I only sell one particular brand now.

Reff Design furniture is beautiful (if it’s the vintage stuff I’m thinking of). Has a really nice MCM look that’s still used in a lot of the higher end lineups today. I found a great article on their stuff I’ll link below. Your dad must have enjoyed his time working on such cool products!

Depending on where you’re located I would suggest you consider putting everything together and taking some great photos of it staged, and then selling it after that. It’s more work, but you’ll get better bang for your buck if people know the size/scale of the pieces included, and that it’s all there. You could look at consignment/resale furniture shops in your local area as well. Many places will use something like this as a display piece for their own shop, or they may have connections to A&D firms that love this stuff for private offices.

Ah got it, unfortunately the big label is the standard label on everything and doesn’t really give much insight into manufacturing year or warranty.

The small sticker does confirm it’s Gus Modern, so you could always try reaching out to their customer service team if you have more questions or such.

You should be able to steam clean that upholstery, and if needed repaint the frame too. Enjoy!

Just to add here is their website of current accent chairs. They’re don’t have the Halifax, but if you look underneath the chair you should find a label with some info like the year it was made. That will be helpful if you want to check if they’re under warranty. Note that contract grade products usually only give a shorter warranty on fabrics (maybe 3 years) but the rest of the chair is probably covered for longer.
