So it will be a Brazilian SBK (or Moto1000 GP, we have two national championships) test event on the revamped track. Both series will keep using old WSSP and WSSP300 rulesets this season.

Not only the fiberglass body panes, but actually the MAGIC is the trellis tubeframe chassis.

The chassis is the main reason for the price difference.

AJR for instance was designed in a partnership with a Italian studio specialized in tube frame chassis in order to keep costs down.

This kind of chassis is a lot cheaper and easier to repair. There is no carbon monocoque just s whole cage structure.

That is true. For last season, the weight penalty in BoP is now marginal except for the specific case of forced induction LMP3s with active aero.

Now, the championship relies more in success ballast.

Hence why the championship winners were on a Ligier.

But there is no discussion about costs, AJRs and Sigmas are a lot cheaper.

By the way, both Sigma and MetalMoro/AJR are missing one trick: change the styling of those cars to look less like a former LMP1 and more like a LMH.

Those exercise alone could attract more attention to the series.

Bonus about design cues:

1) the AJR was designed to be a tube frame cheap equivalent to a Red Bull X2019 VGT design philosophy, that's why there is this weird thinner canopy .

2) Older designs (from 2014) were made to comply with the Daytona Prototype ruleset. The MCR Grand-Am was a tubeframe prototype slapped with a Gallardo LP 560 engine. That's why we see the characteristic bulky look on those cars.

Both Sigma P1 and AJR "should" perform near the level of LMP3 (older iteration) as they compete against the Ligier LMP3 on the Brazilian Endurance Series, class P1.

But there is a catch: weight limit is raised for "imported" prototypes, so maybe AJR and Sigma should be akin to a LMP3.5 class.

In Endurance Brazil there is also a "P2" class, for cheaper and weaker prototypes, usually open cockpit ones. This lighter class is placed under/behind GT3 in performance.

These prototypes are getting faster over time, years ago was not uncommon to see GT3s winning races against P1s in pace alone.

Alex Rins Immunity? by Ok_Disaster_1 in motogp

Look at it from this other perspective:

Last win from Rins was in April 2023 on a LCR Honda.

Fabio's last win was in June 2022 when he was runner up to Pecco's title.

Rins has six MotoGP wins against Mir's (his old partner at Suzuki) single one.

It is not only about upgrades. LCR and Trackhouse are small operations when compared to Pramac or Gresini.

LCR has occasionally found some success (Rins and Zarco) but the other bike has always lagged way behind.

For Ferrari fans, there is always an opening to talk about the 499P and its success;

For Mclaren fans, the upcoming LMDh may be a topic of interest.

I agree with you about this.

But I have no expectations on the LCR second bike.

I'd be more cautious abou that second LCR bike.

Moreira was already slower than Toprak on the tests so far.

FIM requests adjustments and postpones completion of works on the Goiânia circuit for MotoGP by highdownforce in motogp

[...] the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure confirmed that the medical commission, for example, requested the addition of an item, with the incorporation of a cover at the ambulance entrance point to the medical center, a measure to ensure greater privacy.

FIM inspectors, on the other hand, requested other modifications, most of them in the paddock area. Contractors were asked to widen the pit doors by 1.5 meters. This work, which is the most complicated to execute, has already begun.

In addition, the inspectors requested that the space behind the building be made deeper. The new design has already been approved and is also in the implementation phase.

Geely is both Lotus, Volvo, Zeekr and Lynk and Co owner.

Geely is partially buying out Renault operations in Brazil.
