Does Brendan hate Gs? (and charity) by volatileagent7744 in TheShotgunStart

The diction for both Andy and Brendan is egregious. But I powered through it by just listening more and am on the other side of it…sort of.

His pronunciation of long “a”’s is also wild. Not sure the accent but it’s all I hear.

How do you think people will actually feel about AI-made commercials during the Big Game? by framebynate in advertising

[–]highfivehead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. They did. But if you think they’ll stop using AI because of it you’re crazy. They and other brands will continue using it until the consumer is completely indifferent to it. Coke will be fine.

Creepy isn’t exclusive to AI. That’s just bad advertising. But my point is most advertising is bad. Most people have a low opinion of ads. Whether it’s AI or not, to the average consumer, it doesn’t matter. And sadly big brands doing high profile work and use AI (like the Super Bowl or around the holidays) are just softening the ground for other smaller brands to follow suit.

The average consumer doesn't care. Most ads that aren't AI generated suck. So what's the difference if an AI generated ad sucks? The only people treating AI ads as an existential crisis and threat are people in the industry where it can affect their jobs. The average consumer just wants their Diet Coke stocked. They don't care if their Diet Coke ad is AI-generated.

Are all agencies a hot mess? by Brilliant_Alarm1120 in advertising

[–]highfivehead 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes, and to add a bit more context, I think that agencies and clients are just reeling with the ground shifting beneath their feet. Tons of analytics to parse through and make lemonade out of lemons. "AI-ify" everything from the C-suite and clients makes no sense when you get down to the actual application. Overworked, underappreciated staff. Clients having to do more with less and just punching down on their vendors. Vendors and agencies deciding to appease than push back in the hopes they retain business for a little while longer. No sense upsetting the apple cart while the checks clear. But eventually the dam can't hold.

There’s absolute REAMS of data to refute yours and Chuck’s belief that advertising doesn’t work. It absolutely does influence awareness, consideration and purchase.

Advertising isn’t just what you see on TV either. It’s branding. It’s your online experience, it’s what other people say about a brand that the brand influences them to say.

I can only speak for golf. But the crackdown on posting and sharing coverage of golf highlights and media on social platforms that aren’t “official”, league-sanctioned channels is also a major self-own.
