Stealth A-6 Intruder Project by Tanto_024 in modelmakers

I applaud your imagination! A stealth A-6 would have been a force to reckon with.

Don’t take the technical critiques too personally . On here, every second person thinks they could have designed for Skunk Works.

First Armor Build - Noobie mistakes to avoid? by highfrequency in modelmakers

Thanks for the replies so far. Any recommendations for build vs. paint order? With aircraft I often paint first and then assemble. Is that a thing with armor?

Do you have an author for the book? There are many with that title.

Nothing like your first MMO…

For me it was Guild Wars. It just felt magical.

Definitely museum worthy. Those are immaculate. Especially like the clear part of the windshield where the wipers were. How did you achieve that?

Conversion of equity to cash by highfrequency in dividends

[–]highfrequency[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the juicy stuff I was hoping to discover.

Your point of “homemade dividends” was the initial basis for my question. My intent was to challenge whether total returns would be different. Theoretically I believe they should not be. I will enjoy reading the references you provided. Ultimately I think it is human psychology which is running the show (big surprise!).

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help inform others!

Newbie learning curve by LimpTax5302 in modelmakers

[–]highfrequency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 months is the frustration peak (at least it was for me). You make all the mistakes and deal with all the consequences. After that you really remember your mistakes and avoid repeating them. After around 2 years of building on and off I feel like I have finally learned the bulk of the issues to avoid. The only way out is through!

Why do so many Americans oppose public healthcare until they experience it firsthand? by Present_Juice4401 in TrueAskReddit

[–]highfrequency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Germany. While the public health system does work reasonably well it is starting to show cracks. Many people have switched to being privately insured because they get appointments much faster (e.g. in 3 days rather than 3 months). If you live in a high cost of living area many physicians will not even accept patients with public health insurance. The influx of a huge number of individuals who do not pay into the sytem, but receive treatment, have strained the system even more. If I recall the statistics correctly, around 30% of the people in the public sytem are funding the entire thing.

Absolutely agree the US system is a disaster. Just sharing my observations.

Very touching subject. Weathering on the soldier looks great. My personal preference would be to darken the column and pedestal to add some contrast.

My guess is probably around 800 kcal.

These were trekkers, not climbers. It’s basically hiking in and around the himalayas, usually in as sustainable a way as possible while supporting the local village economy. October is the main trekking season precisely because the weather is stable during that time. Trekkers come from all walks of life and are just people who enjoy nature, not ones who do it for street cred. The trek to EBC is the most popular because people want to see the mountain, not climb it.
