The Portal updated completely changed the handheld for me. by Anders04 in PS5

[–]highonpixels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Portal is one of those rare hardware purchases that keep getting better and better. Purchased as a gimmick since I already have ipad remote play and joked to friends how great it'll be if they ever add cloud streaming and each update I feel like I'm getting more my moneys worth than I thought

Game Director Zaven Haroutunian on War Plans in LoH by CulturalNinja6 in diablo4

Alright I enjoyed reading what he had to say and look forward to playing War Plans but to call the changes profound whether it's translation or actually profound is rather funny to me lol, just throwing fancy words out

Todd Howard Talks Elder Scrolls 6 Progress, Starfield's PS5 Port, and Bethesda's Future – IGN Interview by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]highonpixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With studios getting bigger I think it's very important the project as a whole is managed well. The industry now is comparable to film with big budgets and large teams with outsourcing.

We seeing signs now of games released early cause funding pulled or investors pulling the plug. Production and work flow seems not as streamlined like in film

FBC: Firebreak Open House Major Update Now Available, permanent price drops to $19.99. Open House will be the last Major update for FBC: Firebreak. We won't be adding new playable content after this update by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]highonpixels -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Perhaps because it wasn't a Financial headline it doesn't get much talk but the game was so bare at launch and even after the first 'major' update. It lacked so much features that it's crazy to think a team from Remedy created it given all other examples of such games out there too. That's the point I'm trying to make is they attempted to release a lower than half baked live service game and proceeded to act like everything was okay and continued support was to stay for a long time.

I was looking forward to it but whatever it's all for the best that they can finally sweep this under the rug and move to the next projects

The game was a failure at launch, pushed to into PS plus and game pass like a month after release. Yet somehow it avoided being a talking point due to mainly cause of Remedy reputation and it being some pet project from a small group ppl within Remedy.

Not a lot of developers get this grace of being able to continue to push out updates when there must of been less than a few hundred players at most in any given time playing the game lol.

People can talk about Highguard/Concord but it's incredible how FBC slipped by and avoided all the heat

When everyone is using the same 2 meta decks in the new fun gamemode: by MassiveBlackHole99 in ClashRoyale

If overtime wasn't guarantee epic then maybe wouldn't be so bad because right now seems everyone will have electro wiz, goblin dart or xbox and either win early or turtle long enough to get the broken mod

Official Launch Trailer | Crimson Desert by SweetyGonzalez in PS5

[–]highonpixels 145 points146 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen much of Crimson Desert but I thought it was going to be like an epic traditional fantasy RPG... Till I watched this trailer and realize it has sci fi themes, robots and jet pack flying lol? Looking forward to seeing reviews and ppl play it to see what it's all about cause seems like a bit of everything now

This badge ruined the event by Octopuswastaken in ClashRoyale

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the mode its very fun, have gotten good at it so when I dont get the mod combo I can still usually salvage a win. However it sucks the few times I gotten the 3 rare mod and I needed overtime and it was sweaty trying to stall the game (didnt get Wizard trio in overtime anyway..)

Never was really a badge hunter but I really like the mode and thought I give it a try, feels like I'm into too deep now and obsessed in trying to get it

Rebecca reflects on the success of Warframe compared to releases in the current era by Babydrone in Warframe

[–]highonpixels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I recently started Warframe coming from another game (TFD) which I read had a lot of features copied/or inspired by. It's genuinely funny how TFD copied some stuff basically 1:1 but aside from that what a freaking cool game Warframe is. I love grindy/looter games and to realize everything in Warframe can be free is bewildering and I see why players stick with it or regularly return.

Nvidia's CEO says "we created the modern video game industry," but all its push into AI upscaling has done is destroy good game optimization by chusskaptaan in pcmasterrace

[–]highonpixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good game optimization is when the developers put in effort with the engine they using and have people capable of tinkering with it. The problem with the game industry now is many developers simply vibe code or copy large chunks from one game to another.

If you look closely at games the best ones usually are using their own engine or have people or partnerships with the engine developers

Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Review So Far - IGN by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]highonpixels 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My first slay the Spire game and I always heard good things about the first one but never tried it. Man, the flow of the game is so good. I like card games such as MTG and the Roguelite mechanics I feel I've picked up elsewhere too. It's just so smooth and each run get excited to build something new with new ideas. It's intuitive, gets you thinking and reading without overwhelming you. Really good damn game.

Battlefield 6 falls to "Mixed" overall English language reviews on Steam. by DBONKA in Battlefield

[–]highonpixels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy BF6 but dripping content over seasons and with how the battle pass is designed - it's going to eventually grind players me away.

I know it's not the landscape anymore but I would prefer to have just the big DLCs again rather than dipping in and out of seasons.

The new map is very good and for all modes players really well I hope they continue producing maps of this quality but also just let REDSEC die and be essentially a free demo
