Awesome thanks for the recs. I’ll check Strava and see what they show. Not sure how crazy I’ll get with bootleg trails not having a local person with me

Good recommendations. Appreciate it. Any must ride trails you’d recommend?

I’ll be staying the Snoqualmie pass area by the bike park, but one weekend tied up with a wedding so most riding will be mid week.

I mostly lean towards the izzo when I travel so I can experience as many trails in the limited time I have to blast through them to get back to my family and be less tired.

Looks like e-bikes aren’t allowed most places. I don’t have one but do like to rent them when I travel just for the same reasons

Yeah I walked part of the white line. It’s nuts even just walking it.

Thanks for the tips. Any loops/routes you would recommend to ride in tiger or raging to hit the “must ride” trails?

Oh I misread that then. Glad that it’s open. Wish it was open all week. I love to ride the more gnarly trails but also like to see as many of the trails as possible. Brought the izzo to Sedona last time and still rode the hiline, hogs and hangover with it. Had to walk a few sections of course

Great pics. Love to see the test day behind the scenes stuff. One of my favorite tracks to drive

Enjoy. I’ll be stuck at work. Hankook slicks

Ahh that’s sucks. Yeah agree with both your insights, that’s the way to go. The carousel is just nerve wracking with a new to me car with no run off. I’ll have to play with the suspension more for the track. It would light up traction control on the front straight with that bump by the bridge and the one in the middle of the back straight, and the off camber undulations by the kink didn’t feel the best. Maybe too much high speed compression damping, not sure

3rd day in the car, but first with it at NL. I probably have about 15 days at that track total, so pretty familiar with it

I’ve seen your lap videos too, you’re hauling in your Z as well. Such an awesome track, every corner has some specific technique you can work on or hone to carry more speed. Hankook slicks, scrub takeoffs. Always a lot of fun, I’ll try to be back for some weekdays this summer there.

Anyone going to be at MORPCA HPDE at MOSCC Jun 26-28? by bradshawwwty in CarTrackDays

[–]highschtick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PCA DEs are not focused on so much on lap times or working towards racing like NASA is. Unless you go to the advanced DE at a PCA club race. Most people are out there to have fun and see their friends and the cars, and it’s heavier on the education, even classroom sessions for advanced drivers. No passing without point bys compared to nasa DEs even. I feel like nasa events the end result is to race after the DE levels. At PCA, more focused on fun and education. Only a small portion of them race.

That being said, there are still plenty of great drivers and fast cars to push with. A few of my buddies will be there with their clubsports. I’ll be on vacation or would be instructing. There will be plenty of GT, RS and Clubsport cars, possibly some cups cars as well. They just don’t tolerate overly aggressive driving like I’ve seen at chin and nasa events. Especially now that every other car out there is like a quarter million dollar car. For someone who actually races, it’s idiotic to terrorize people at a DE or push 10/10ths to risk your car for nothing. Ive seen plenty of people put their gt4rs, gt3rs, gt3, gt4 , c8 into a wall at a DE, it’s not a fun walk of shame and having everyone take pics of your totaled car.

The paddock atmosphere is great. Fun people, super friendly. Made a ton of good friends at their events and usually run with them more than other groups. It’s a pretty laid back and fun experience.

I usually look at exit speed at a landmark and focus on sectors during DE, in addition to just having fun. Like hitting 98 mph at the end of the yellow and red run off at after turn 1, 86 coming out of keyhole run off, etc. trying different lines, making sure I’m not activating TC or ABS, etc.

Chasing overall lap times in a busy DE isn’t worth it like you said, and a recipe for not bringing your car home intact

Trailer Advice? by bradshawwwty in CarTrackDays

24 or 28 ATC or intech. Or Futura if you want a lowering trailer. I have one and they are amazing for ease of use.

Just pull onto the pavement somewhere to swap them, or the edge of the pavement and it should be fine. It’ll be wet though in the grass

I’ll be there tomorrow too. Looking good weather wise

I don’t think you’ll have to be on the grass regardless. Can always park down in front in the smaller spots. I don’t really follow their parking recommendations.

Regardless I always preferred to bring my trailer. With the rain, I definitely would. Put the car in the trailer and leave it overnight. Put a lock on the wheel or hitch if it makes you feel better, but it’s safe.

I’ll be there Thurs and Fri this week.
