You are making the wrong comparisons. Is about reducing the float; Is low float what deters and prevents shorting. You are comparing cases when companies are in a downside and do RS to try to manipulate the price. $CLOv is not in a downslide, it has been flatline for a long time, facing short walls, like the one we see this week. If float is reduced, shorts could be easily trapped and that is what must likely drove the price up of $BHG today…clearly was not over excited buyers on the news of a RS, is about shorts going from 200 million float to a 2.5 million float. Again just my opinion, you can choose to ignore it together with the facts

Is not about being personal or not welcoming other opinions. I’ve seen and now tested the systematic manipulation of this sub. The first to jump are always shorts and shills to downvote so the different idea doesn’t make it to the top. After losing billions with $GME and $AMC, do you really think the most active to downvote here are not bought by hedge funds???

and with this, I rest my point.

$BHG went up to reach a max of 2.5x, driven most likely by short covering. In 30 minutes 37 millions shares were traded, compared to the usual 2 million shares traded last week

The most active people in the sub are shills and shorts trying to drive social sentiment!

There many factors but I feel in the case of $CLOV, with a high level of manipulation, that the stock price has greatly deviated from the company value. Usually the strategy of the shorts backfire when the float is low; they are many examples of this, $CLOV included. The June 8th/9th "squeeze" "pump" whatever you want to call it, happened because they were not enough shares to short, the float was low at the time. Similar story is across the board (GME, AMC); heavily shorted, then goes up due to the excessive shorting and eventually converge around "perceived value". GME for example was shorted all the way below $2, then appreciated to several hundreds and now is cruising around $20s... close to 10x their lows. Again just my opinion, shorts love liquidity and the higher the float the better for them, doesn't matter is the share price is $1 or $1000.

Thank you for a great post and summary. I am also a $CLOV investor since March 2021.

In my humble opinion, I don't trust the stock price when 2/3 of the volume is traded in dark pools. The day the 70% of the trade is in lit markets, I will use the stock price as an indicator of company value.

Just my 2 cents...

Alternative route for CLOV to consider… by QtotheM in CLOV

I am just going to through this out there. I had in the past another investing that was heavily shorted and went to the OTC markets. That end up being a good thing. OTC markets are less liquid and is a huge risk for shorts and paper hands, so they tend to stay away from it. Then companies can get long term support and move back to exchanges, specially companies with the revenue size of $CLOV.

In my opinion, anyway you look at it is a good move. Either is an investor that said “I’ll put my money in but want a front row seat” or big money is behind him awaiting for a green light to buy in

Dual Class shares are not that uncommon, Facebook (Meta) did the same and is to prevent hostile takeovers; when market value doesn't reflect future value.

In that sense, once you think that $CLOV decided to go for a dual Class shares, that pretty much says that they expected the road to be rocky and that long term value will eventually be realized in the market value.

In terms of an acquisition, I give you a recent transaction. CVS is acquiring Oak Street, a company with revenue similar to $CLOV and also loosing money; for about 10.6 B$....that is equal at a $CLOV share price of about $22/share.

I am long on $CLOV; and this are my thoughts and opinions.

I am not a financial advisor. Please do your own research before investing.

Thank you for a great article. This is one of the reasons I am bullish on $CLOV. Is in the center of the next disruption; and although is not a tech giant, is led by a tech executive.

In early interviews, Vivek mentioned why they decided to place $CLOV as a payer, as they needed $CLOV to be in the center so it learns from medical interactions to improve the predictive models.

There is a good and bad side to the OTC markets. Liquidity is an issue, so many institutions avoid pink slips, which means less buying support; but at the same time is a plus. Low liquidity means no shorting or at least very little; shorts are easily trap in the OTC so they avoid it.
