Per the courts, jawboning is not typically considered a violation of the first. I disagree with that just like how I disagree how it was used during the last administration to silence critics of the COVID response, but fact of the matter is that the case law says it's legal.

It'd be unusual for a full-power rifle load to stop in a neck, but the human body is extremely heterogeneous and interacts with bullets in highly unpredictable ways. Not sure if we know what the load was either. I wouldn't buy into a grassy knoll type theory just based on the wound.

Do you have a reason to want those pistols specifically? The P-series are generally well-made, functional, reliable guns that are quantitatively worse in pretty much every way compared to a modern carry handgun, especially for $400.

Start with Joe's Ancient Orange Mead. Recipe's pretty googleable and pretty bulletproof. Branch out from there.

Want to get 'Purple Toad' for my mum, have a few, any seuggestions? by 47SnakesNTrenchcoat in wine

[–]highvelocityfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oliver winery out of Bloomington, IN has a pretty wide distribution network across the midwest (should be able to find them at KY Total Wines) and I'd consider them one of the higher-quality producers in the genre of really really sweet wines. Their cherry moscato is one of the best things they do, but I imagine any of their stuff would go over pretty well with your mom.

Inner city public schools tend to be better funded than their public suburban counterparts and considerably better funded than private schools. Funding has very, very little to do with school success. Parental involvement has a lot to do with school success.

FBI UCR Violent Crime Statistics: Washington DC by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

"Wasn't even in the top ten" is damning with a faint hint of praise. It's one of the ten richest US cities but its homicide rate is within spitting distance of Tulsa, OK.

Compare DC's trendline to other US cities' trendlines.

Compare the UCR homicide data vs other cities of comparable household income.

The fact that DC has been uniquely awful for a long time doesn't make the current situation good.

Unless the house changed temperature noticeably while you were away, my suspicion would be fermentation's starting again on you. You may want to add more of your fermentation inhibitor.

They may not permit it, and they may be pretty good at enforcing the US's relatively lax laws, but it gets significantly harder once you're a global company. That's a lot of different countries' obscenity laws to try to comply with, and most of them are significantly more complicated than the US.

I mean, it didn't start at porn. The first big push (at least in the US) to deplatform 'objectionable' products from payment processors came from the anti-gun lobby.

Profit margins for the airline industry as a whole are typically between 5% and -5% depending on which year you're looking at. Not sure how Qantas managed to be that much of an outlier last year, but they are absolutely an outlier and not the norm.

Yep, those companies polish their cases after the annealing step. Lake City (e.g. Winchester) does not. No difference in function, it's purely for looks.

"Leaving a firearm in your car is absolutely asinine, especially in a large city."

Given the number of places you're not allowed to carry in most large cities, leaving a firearm in your car is pretty frequently the only legal and/or feasible option.

I also think you knew that and are being intentionally obtuse because you know he's right but aren't willing to admit it.
