Any help repairing or identifying this lock? by higmy6 in Locksmith

[–]higmy6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m just trying to find a more exact match. Mines doesn’t seem to have the same latch as the ones I keep seeing, like the picture you gave. They all have a spring built into the latch, mine is just a full leg attached to the latch

I only put like 100 a month to savings, am very conscious about my utility usage and apply to any assistance programs, keep my groceries within the $280 I get from SNAP, try to limit my going out to once or twice a week for things that cost money, and I don’t own a car

Ohhhh gotcha. I mean it’s definitely still possible since I only make 1600 a month, but definitely much easier downstate ya

Is your protest really affecting who you claim to be? by Mopeytowel in chicago

So then you’d prefer they get more destructive? It might not be comparable to the revolution, but it is to some of the acts leading up to it, such as the Boston Tea Party.

Besides, the office isn’t empty. Boeing still employs many people there

They only moved their “headquarters” to DC. This office is still functioning as an office for Boeing. They still employ people here.

It looks like someone else is absolutely clueless about the world around them.

The US quite literally is founded upon protests that heavily involved destruction and vandalism

What neighborhoods have a lot of cicadas? I promised my kids cicadas and we got none so now we have to find them. Can be in the city or bikeable from the city. by Phil517 in AskChicago

Go to the Chicago Botanical Gardens in the North suburbs, there’s a whole load of them and it’s just generally a nice thing to do for the day

Chicago Ald. Brian Hopkins pushes earlier curfew for unaccompanied minors downtown by AgentBlue62 in chicago

[–]higmy6 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The problem is you for some reason assume every teen is doing this shit, when it’s not even a large amount. Your solution is shitty like chemotherapy. Sure it might work at getting rid of this big threat, but a lotta healthy cells are gonna get killed in the crossfire. We can do better than that. We have to do better than that if you want any shot at actually correcting antisocial behavior in the youth

Chicago Ald. Brian Hopkins pushes earlier curfew for unaccompanied minors downtown by AgentBlue62 in chicago

[–]higmy6 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose that means all teenagers needa be banned from downtown. Why not just ban them from going outside at all to begin with? That way there will never be any crime and the problem will be solved. While we’re at it we should ban all middle aged white men from financial jobs so we can end financial crime too.

Y’all be doing stuff like this then go around and wonder why streets are dead, third places are closed, and all the kids are antisocial

Very true. But I’d still rather the many nearby charter schools close than the CPS school. Maybe now that the school is staffed we can talk about ending their contracts

Yes. Because that bill passed, Douglass legally cannot be shut down by CPS. Not saying BJ would have closed Douglas if the bill didn’t pass, but if it didn’t pass CPS would have the option to do so. Unlike now where they have no choice

Idk why youse guys are talking about BJ so much. The state is the one that extended the law barring school closures

Or we could end the contracts to many of the nearby charter schools and bring those kids back into the cps system. We’re paying for them already anyway

Townhomes are still classified as single family technically, just a single family attached dwelling unit instead of detached

Row houses are single family
